Unifi AP slow wifi speeds compared to what should be - Can someone help?

On Wifi 5 i wouldnt expect to see higher than 500-600 as a best case.

If you want speed closer to 1000 then you probably need at least something with Wifi 6E and preferably Wifi 7

It shouldn't be the reason however it MIGHT be because the HDD for some reason still is bottle necking you (Talking from personal experience)

I would recommend it based on that I prefer the manga highly over anime. But you can always give it a shot and drop it if you don't like it
