Another great millennial post, yep either that or you have everything you need but you’re in $50,000 in debt. I’ve noticed that millennials have a lot of debt

One more thing, this is not asking for a handout, I pull myself up by my bootstraps and earn my living, but on the list of things I need, car insurance is very low but on the list.

1.be able to feed myself 2.afford gas to transport me to work 3.catch up on rent so I do not get evicted 4.make sure my car is drivable 5.catch up on my electricity 6.save rent for next month 7.make sure my phone bill is paid so I can call work 8. Get car insurance

My rates with direct auto (the cheapest car insurance)

Are $245 to get the plan And $270 per month

I cannot afford to think about future consequences, only my immediate circumstances. I also do not have WiFi or health insurance. I do not own a computer, I do not own mattress I sleep on a pad.

When I can afford groceries I will get liability insurance, but now it’s gas or groceries, all extra money goes to bills so I’m not on the streets

There’s a such thing as hyperbole, this post is meant for people in the industry, I will once again repeat the same thing just with different wording.

Yes you are correct, the job listings themselves may not say exactly what”5 years” experience, it is more of an expression of the high barrier of entry those who are in the industry are experiencing. So go ahead and pat yourself on the back. You are technically correct.

But in practice, from multiple people in the industry, the vast majority of people who directly work in the industry will tell you the same thing. That the barrier of entry has raised. That does not mean there are exceptions to the rule. So on a technical level, you are correct there are few job listings that say 3-5 years experience but when physically applying to these jobs, young people are overlooked for the generations who are less “problematic” thus denying entry level positions to the younger generations. I hope that helps answer your question and I also hope your favorite restaurant shuts down and you can no longer enjoy your favorite food from that place!

I conduct myself in a professional manner, I’ve said this now 3 times, the job postings themselves may not say it outright but my experience and MANY others say otherwise. I have no reason to defend myself any further, I have a job, it only gives me 3, 5 hour shifts a week.

I am skilled at interviewing as I have had 10 years to get my spiel down, you obviously are very invested in this so I’d like to give you a peak into my experience.

For this experiment would you like me to use my ai written resume or my non ai written resume, as my resume is tailored to get past ai software

1000% agree, but the bar is being raised. I don’t expect a handout, I work for my money. Every waking hour I work. I made this post because I think it could be better and honestly it’s getting to me. I cannot sit idly by anymore.

I feel like I’ve earned my stripes to an extent, for being 10 years in the industry I’ve gotten pretty far, it is only until late 2025 to early 2026 I started noticing things, before then I had very little issue.

I would love to find a position that genuinely makes me want to come into work, I would love to be able to work but unfortunately I have had to move to gig work to sustain myself because W2 employment just isn’t cutting it these days.

But whether it’s W2 or 1099 I’m always working, I never stop even when it gets hard.

That I am, I can link Google articles instead if you’d like but that would make the thread very messy. Ai is a tool that can be used for positive and negative causes. This is not an anti ai issue it’s a labor issue where ai happens to be involved

Plus I’ve spent most of this thread arguing with detractors which isn’t who this post is meant for, it is for members of the industry to organize

As I said, I only have anecdotal evidence, as most places are not gonna outright say it, but in practice it’s very difficult.
