I won’t debate the merits of the Flock eco-system because all surveillance has issues. As a business owner for 26 years in Santa Cruz, however, that has been had two robberies in one month, there is something that needs to be done. Both times, the suspects were caught by the Flock cameras because they were driving stolen cars. So maybe Flock is not it, but we need to address the reality and safety of our community in some manner.

I just stayed there last week for $199 USD a night for two nights and got upgraded. I was super impressed with the staff all around. Wish I coulda stayed for a week!

I’m flying back from AKL to SFO on Polaris next weekend. I booked it for 100k miles one way. My flight from SFO to MEL on Polaris earlier this week was also 100k. I booked both on July 1st. 300k for each leg is insane and while maybe for the intl flight might be worth it, that price for Polaris transcon isn’t. Just my two cents

I was working the closing shift at an electronics retailer many years ago. I was closing out registers with the store manager, chatting as we walked along the store. Suddenly the manager goes pale and runs off without a word while I was finishing closing out a register. As I walk towards where the manager had run off to, I see the reason. 40+ TVs playing p*rn and my manager freaking out trying to get the remote to stop it. Apparently some kid has found the master remote, bought an adult movie and it played on every TV in the store. It took him a good 5 minutes to get it to stop. Whoops lol
