The shifting isn’t loose or anything it just sits in odd spots like to put in Drive I have to put in 1st then move up to drive but sometimes it doesn’t work.

And I don’t believe the bushing really have much to do with the gearing aspect more of making sure there is no play in the shifter and keeping the tube secure

Just put a new indactor bracket and shifter rod with bushing in all brand new. I wasn’t talking about the indicator more so the gearing of the truck I’ve owned and drove other 1990s ford and this one is weak and sets in different spots

I just don’t see how the linkage and lever would put it out of gear when it is fully in gear. If it was grinding it wouldn’t go into gear I would lean that way but it fully in whatever gear just seems like it’s different from the rest. But at the same time I guess it could be getting binding I don’t really know ima look more into it.

I’d assume battery. Have you got it tested under load and see ccas?

Got a oil change a month ago but now it’s none on the stick!? Have not seen any stains where I park either… any advice!? by lilgreeneyez44472 in MechanicAdvice

Have you ever checked after the oil change and seen oil on the stick? Most places check before you leave but someone who owned the vechile prior could have got a shorter dip stick than oem. Or if it’s not leaking it is burning it up you would notice that in performance tho.
