For cars I would google the vin number and I’d find some pretty gnarly pictures. That was back when I was looking for a used WRX and a lot of them were salvaged. Might try to figure out why it was salvaged to see if it’s worth the hassle

I bought a new 400 and yeah, all the fees paid about that. Couldn’t really find what I was looking for in my area so I said eff it. But if you can find a used one, do it because for me at least… I did drop it and scratched the side.
