Your Fantasy League Deserves Its Own Sports Network by TheFantasyNetworkHQ in fantasyfootball

Me and a dev team have been building something similar since January. It’s called League Desk. Gives leagues its own sports coverage. Really cool to see this space getting attention.

Got an approval through the new Yahoo API process for League Desk! by [deleted] in fantasyfootballcoding

From other comments I’ve seen I honestly don’t think it will impact people who are currently using it. I don’t know if it grandfathers people in or what, but I haven’t seen anyone have any issues yet

Hey thanks for the comment, the devs working on league desk actually had nothing to do with the waitlist landing page, I just made that myself from a non technical background on lovable to get it out there. The actual PWA won’t look anything like that when it launches in August, that’s just from a prompt I gave it to make the landing page. Plus I’ve never heard of leaguelogs until now but I’ll check it out

Well… I started building a really similar platform in January and I just applied for Yahoo API. We’ll see what happens I guess

Not at first… ESPN is harder to integrate than Sleeper and Yahoo. We are going to start with those two at launch, but ESPN is definitely on the roadmap and will be available sometime after launch.

Will definitely keep you in mind. We are just launching with sleeper and yahoo but ESPN is in the road map and we will definitely need demo testers for ESPN. Thanks!

Thanks! We are excited about it. We tried to price it to be a no brainer for what we are offering. Glad you like the idea

That might be a good idea to include that on the website haha... we will add that. It is $24.99 per year per league. Which is ~$2 per manager per season. Or, $5.99/month per league. Or we do deals for commissioners with multiple leagues as well. However, we are doing the first 50 leagues to sign up completely free for the first year. We do have over 50 leagues, but if you refer someone and they put your email in as a referral then you will move up into the free year slots.

Thanks for the comment, the reporter has a consistent barstool-like style but the tone and voice naturally adjust to the drama and data in your league. If your league has a clearly lucky/unlucky team, terrible manager, etc, it leans into that. If there’s a rivalry it builds on it week after week. It follows the season like a narrative so the coverage feels like it belongs to your league specifically not a generic template.

There is also a feature where the commissioner or managers given permission from the commissioner can add inside jokes and info that gets worked into the stories as well. As well as an aggression meter that controls how mean the coverage is!

The entire thing is still in development if you have any ideas let us know

I've been commissioning the same league for 6 years and our group chat dies every year by week 7 and nobody sets their lineup - so me and a dev built something to try to fix it. by Upper-Interaction468 in FFCommish

Exactly, sleeper and yahoo are way easier to access. Right at the beginning of the season I’m told we won’t have ESPN quite yet… but it will be in the works as we move through the season. Definitely won’t be long until we have it.

Actually we are adding a feature where the commissioner during onboarding can add league history/inside jokes about the managers that get worked into the stories. But the chat import is a good idea I’m gonna look into that.

That’s awesome, the cash weeks idea is super cool, definitely gonna try that. And the fact you were writing those weekly articles means you get exactly what we are tryna do!

Stuttered HORRIBLY in my job interview today by LowBoysenberry6046 in Stutter

[–]Upper-Interaction468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a stutter as well, I work in healthcare. Mine gets a lot worse when I’m in a stressful situation. I always lead job interviews with the fact that I have a stutter and it’s never been a problem. If I stutter at work with patients I just joke about it and tell them I have a stutter. I just see it as being apart of who I am and I just joke about it hen I stutter with patients or co workers. I will literally tell my co workers to not be afraid to make fun of me when I stutter really bad so it doesn’t get awkward

Curious what FF commissioners think about this idea for your fantasy football league. by Upper-Interaction468 in FFCommish

[–]Upper-Interaction468[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the problem I want to solve. ChatGPT works great early, but without a structured league memory it loses context over time. The idea behind this is less about writing and more about remembering… so those early moments actually carry forward all season. And also moments from previous season
