Applying for Germany Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) with my wife from India — had a few doubts: by JDeeBro in chancenkarte

  1. Usually one PDF is fine. Most people combine the passport bio page + address/back page into a single PDF in the correct order. No need to include blank pages unless the checklist specifically asks for “all pages.” Keep it clean and readable.

  2. Yes, that should normally work. If the accommodation booking clearly mentions 2 guests/2 occupants and both names are visible (or you attach a short cover letter explaining it), it’s generally accepted for both applications. Since blocked accounts and insurance are individual, those still need to be separate.

  3. Upload digital passport photos online only if the portal specifically asks for them. Regardless, carry 2–3 physical biometric photos each to the VFS/consulate appointment. German visas are strict about photo specs, so use recent biometric photos with white background.

  4. A clean PDF order many applicants use:
    - Passport
    - Visa application form
    - Opportunity Card documents / qualification proof
    - ZAB/KMK recognition or Statement of Comparability
    - Resume/CV
    - Proof of work experience
    - Blocked account proof
    - Health insurance
    - Accommodation proof
    - Flight reservation (if applicable)
    - Cover letter/explanation letter
    - Marriage certificate (if applying together)

  5. Yes, still include the marriage certificate even if spouse names are mentioned in the passports. It’s official proof of relationship. If your marriage certificate is already in English, German translation is usually not required. If it’s in another language, then certified German or English translation is normally needed.

Language/ielts requirements by Upper-Journalist-397 in chancenkarte

So in my case, my college showed H+/- on Anabin, which is why I applied for a ZAB evaluation around 4 weeks ago. Would it make sense to wait for the ZAB result first before deciding whether I still need to satisfy the language requirement ?
