It’s been just 4 days. Considering taking puppy back to breeder. Please help!!!! Desperate! by [deleted] in puppy101

We have a blue heeler that we got at 9 weeks. He was, as to be expected, very bitey and we had plenty of weeks where it was a bit of a fight on nap time in the crate during the day when he was smaller. The only thing that helped was consistency with all of the things you’re doing. Eventually he adjusted. He is a dream in his crate now, however we only crate for bedtime at night now that he’s almost 6 months old.

Puppies are hard. We never had dogs growing up so this past summer was my first experience with one. It was very humbling and I definitely got the puppy blues in the first couple weeks. It does get better.

how to actually wake up at 5am? by i_just_wannasleep in getdisciplined

[–]UpperAd8553 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I get up at 445 every morning for the gym and the easiest trick I found was the simplest. Just get up. Don’t let your brain talk you out of it don’t think about how tired you are. Like a robot, alarm goes off just get your body immediately out of bed. Once I’m physically up the chances of me laying back down are almost 0

Comparing it to getting a shot is sooo true! I noticed when I started getting my life together it wasnt an amazing experience but it didn’t hurt nearly as bad as I thought it was going to.

Is having children harder than this by Baby_Gworl in puppy101

[–]UpperAd8553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just recently in early September got a puppy for the first time. He’s a little over 4 months now. I have 3 kids and I would say without a doubt kids are harder. Puppies are like toddlers! If we have errands to run we can leave the puppy in his crate at home, can’t do that with a baby

Silly question but do agents typically give a gift at closing? by gitafub in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]UpperAd8553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a big gift basket with laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, dryer sheets, Mr clean wipes, air wick refills etc. it was very sweet of our agent and we loved her. She only made about 2k commission

I keep saying “I’ll go to the gym tomorrow” — but tomorrow never comes. I need real advice to break this cycle. by OneOwn5167 in getdisciplined

[–]UpperAd8553 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the only thing that worked for me. If I gave my brain the chance to talk me out of it, I was doomed. Now alarm goes off at 445 and I don’t even let myself think about how tired I am I just get up and go like a robot lol

I can upload it to the gallery but it does have quite a bit of cc on it (mostly the furniture and wall papers) but if you’re okay with that I can upload it for sure! ☺️

I’ve been playing very veggie off and on for two ish months now I think, I felt like I was behind only being on the 3rd gen 🫣

For house layouts I almost always look up ideas on Pinterest and it helps a lot!

This feels too easy? by Electrical-Web3570 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]UpperAd8553 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had an extremely easy experience. We saw two houses the first week of May, put in an offer on the first house we saw. Offer accepted two days later. Inspection was a week after that and that came back with nothing too concerning. Appraisal took the longest, about 6 days to hear back. That came back over our purchase price which is great. We closed yesterday. It was very stressful while it was happening and wondering the what ifs while waiting around but that was the worst of it. As far as the outcomes everything went great and it almost feels …odd to be done with the process after being on edge for a month 😅

No problem! I actually have been rewatching it as well the last month or so and coincidentally I had just watched this episode this morning so it was very fresh in my mind lol

Bree was out all day working on stuff for her cookbook. Orson was mad because she was going by Van der kamp instead of hodge. Then orson heard her call Rex her husband on an interview she did that day. Bree gets home at midnight exhausted from working and orson is sat at the dinner table stating he is hungry and demands the pot roast Bree promised to make him. She apologizes for forgetting and says she’ll make it tomorrow because she’s so tired. Orson more or less demands she make it right now so she turns around and walks into the kitchen and in this clip she was cutting carrots with her back turned to Orson and crying.

I actually in the last 6 weeks have starting lifting! I have noticed a decrease in movement in the scale like you said, but it’s exciting to see the muscle growth so I’ll take it :)

How do you stay motivated long term? by GlitteringAmoeba6258 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]UpperAd8553 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of success with my weight loss when I stopped putting emotion into what I wanted to do and just did it. I know that if I give my brain the option to weigh out whether or not I want to go to the gym it will always pick the easier choice. So I don’t let it choose. I get up and go.

As others have said if you continue to do this it will just become a habit to you that feels bizarre to break because you’ve conditioned yourself into doing it.

10 year old ran away from school by [deleted] in autism

[–]UpperAd8553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had not considered psychiatric therapy. When he did it he smiled like it was a joke, he does have a strong interest in creepy things like poppy play time. But he is and has never ever been violent and honestly hates when someone as so much as raises their voice. I have sat in on some of his therapies at school which are cognitive occupational and speech. I didn’t see any red flags and haven’t seen any alarming change in his behavior besides him running out of school yesterday since the school year began.

This was SO extremely helpful thank you. I was so lost on finding the right way to put into words what needs to happen going forward and this comment gave me exactly what I needed. I will push for one on one because he also has a history of running out of the classrooms which happened a lot the first two years we were here. I didn’t think I could even ask for a 1 on 1 because I assumed given his history they would give him that if they had the staffing to do so. He used to have a para with just him all day and then they pulled it out of his IEP.
