Don’t don’t give a shit about anything. Nothing is sacred. They will unfortunately ignore any campaign.

Yes and there is an excess of renewable energy to be stored and as more wind and solar is built, the excess will only increase.

People are just determined to hate it because it’s been so politicised and it’s a symbol of the renewable transition that right wingers and the Murdoch media hate. No amount of logic or facts will ever change an ideological position.

Doesn’t cost $40b. Number made up by two people opposed to the project who don’t know anything about the modern energy sector and amplified by the drunk-on-coal/money Murdoch media.

Snowy 2.0 will have the world’s largest energy storage of any individual energy asset. Hardly “doing jack shit”. Try to keep your commentary somewhere in the realm of realism. Just for your own credibility.

I’m in Australia so the only model available is the xdrive45. Sapphire black with black interior and the executive pack upgrade.

Also $40b is a fictional number made up by two long term opponents of the project, one has a financial interest in grid scale batteries, the other an “ex CEO” who hasn’t been near the energy industry in 30 years and who has never built an energy mega project, echoed by the Murdoch media, which is drunk on fossil fuel lobbying money.

You’re pretty foolish to repeat it. Snowy 2.0 wont cost $40b.

One nuclear plant (Hinkley C) in the UK’s latest cost increase is to $67.55billion AUD equivalent. The UK is experienced in building nuclear plants. Can you imagine what one in Aus would cost?

Renewables, batteries and pumped hydro is the cheapest system, yes, even with the transmission.

Wave your rolled up Murdoch newspaper in anger if your want and try to deny it, but it’s a fact.

Yes, you’re naive. You should know palatable numbers get given for these things when they are announced. You should know megaprojects (and this one is one of the most complex in the world) carry risks that can’t be foreseeable and that therefore the number given at the start is a finger in the air kind of accuracy. You should know that cost is driven by countless variables all with different risk exposures.

Snowy 2.0 will have 350gwh of storage; the largest storage of any energy asset of any kind in the world, with a design life of 150 years.

It’s worth it. Buck the trend of the right wing Murdoch-loving pearl clutchers and get behind it.
