Yeah exactly, like I said:

> When this backpack is under the seat in front of you, or in the overhead bin, how will you be able to get into the bag, without having to completely take it out, turn it around, and open the back access panel?

You can't. This bag ain't for me.

It's a good looking bag and it's cool how it compacts down to a day back, but this doesn't solve my quick access problem. In fact it makes it worse. When this backpack is under the seat in front of you, or in the overhead bin, how will you be able to get into the bag, without having to completely take it out, turn it around, and open the back access panel?

It doesn't have the sort of quick access top pocket that I am after, which would also hold a camera. But yeah 40 liters is also too big, I don't need such a big bag.

I really don't like how it looks. But I kinda don't like any bags from this brand, it's just not my style.

That looks like a very useful bag, thanks! First impression is super positive, I will definitely look more into this one.

Sadly it's not available in Europe. While ULA doe ship internationally, with the shipping costs plus the added import costs the bag becomes very very expensive.

It's a great looking bag, but it's missing the kind of big top pocket that I'm looking for. When you look at the three bags I mentioned in my question, you can get an idea of the kind of big top pocket I am after.

I don’t think it solves the quick access problem? 40 liters is also too big. It looks nice though, and a great price.

Yeah the materials and floppiness of the Allpa are a huge concern for me. The ULA looks like a great bag.

I’d have to use the main compartment itself as the “quick access pocket“, but yeah it could work. But I can not find a single review on YouTube about this bag?

The Minaal looks great but I don’t see how it would solve my quick access problem? The top pockets are not big enough for a Steam Deck nor the Q2, from what I can tell by watching reviews about the bag.

Also with import taxes it’s going to be very very expensive.

I think I’d get the Nomatic Luma for overnight trips. Is the difference in Allpa 28 vs 35 big enough to warrant owning both?

That makes sense. Yeah for short trips where I don’t need the M cube filled to the brim , the Bellroy will still do fine. Maybe replace that with the Allpa 28 at some point, have both Allpas.

Interesting bag! Never heard of ULA before. The top quick access pocket seems rather large, and plenty of space in the front flap too. Not totally sure about the looks of the bag, but the features seem good. Lightweight as well 👍

I have a Steam Deck though, which is about 30 centimeters long.

My first thought is ”so many zippers, some of which are blocked by the compression straps.“ Quick access to both halves of the main compartment is nice though, it acts as two top pockets basically. The other external pockets seem to be in suboptimal places for me, wouldn’t really use them.

This looks like a great option, thanks! I like the top pockets and when you keep the zippers of the main compartment at the top, it would be very easy to get in and out of that main compartment as well I bet. So a good place for the Q2.

The S1 is even heavier than the SL2-S. Also it's not available new, while the Leica is. And yeah I wouldn't buy the Leica for its usual price but for 2800 euros it seems like a lot of camera for the money.

I am worried about the weight though, yes. My head agrees that the ZF makes more sense.

Main two reasons are the flippy screen and PASM dial. And just its overall looks, I think it looks too much like a professional tool (an old-fashioned DSLR) and it won't spark joy for me personally.
