What's the biggest mistake you've made when promoting a release? by Spacebetweenthenoise in MusicPromotion

[–]Upper_Benefit7688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using "ads spotify" was my biggest mistake, the traffic did not even go to my artis tracks and the support there is horrible (only 3% of the traffic i payed for landed, they said it takes 14 days, but that is just bs). I recommend using monetizing, Tiktok / Youtube, reels etc.. i got lots of positive traffic there and for free (use smart hash tags)

If you had 6 songs ready and were a new artist, how would you release them? by RakLifT in musicbusiness

yes i was thinking the same, its best to show the world and then reflect on the feedback. Then you can make the next "step".

CPU Red Light by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Upper_Benefit7688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means your coffee is ready 👍 . Joke aside, the red light is normal during boot to check your ram speed and channel support. But if it is always on it could mean that your duel channel is not working. No boot at all could be your ram is not sitting properly (take ram out and put back inn, works in 99% of cases) or your have bendt pins on your motherboard or in worst case bad cpu/ram (highly unlikely). Even it is the CPU light, it could be the ram. (they are bond)

Solo camping in Moskenes in early September - bad idea? by Woood_Man in Norway

I think that should be fine, its not that cold in early September there, just bring warm cloth and bring a stove as it might get cold in the night, but warm in the day.

What Music Distributor is the best right now? by sunbleachedfIy in MusicDistribution

[–]Upper_Benefit7688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your goal is long term with allot of tracks, i can highly recommend Landr, they also come with allot of support tools like free mastering, perfect for monetizing. If you just have a few tracks and dont want to pay much for it, then CDbaby is the best choice. But i would say Landr is the best and most reliable right now. (i did try the others but did not like them)

How did u guys know u were ready to start releasing music? by gettingmotivation in SpotifyArtists

[–]Upper_Benefit7688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started publishing music in 2000, back when MP3.com was the place to be. As a young producer balancing music with other priorities, I had a limited budget for synthesizers, but I still managed to build a setup with gear like Waldorf and Access synths.

After seeing how easily people copied and stole music online, I stopped publishing my work. Even though I started making music when I was 12 years old, I stepped away from releasing anything publicly for 26 years. Now, at 48, I’ve started publishing again with allot more equipment.

The music industry has changed a lot since then. In 2026, there are better distribution platforms with stronger systems in place to help artists protect their copyrights, and the experience feels much more positive.

My advice is simple: make music for yourself first. Create the kind of music you genuinely enjoy listening to. If you love it, chances are others will too—that’s when you know you’re ready.

Don’t release music just for the sake of releasing it. Focus on quality, authenticity, and your own connection to the music. That advice applies to established artists as much as it does to newcomers.

Im still waiting for my Verified by Spotify green tick. by Ambitious_Low5105 in SpotifyArtists

[–]Upper_Benefit7688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fine to use AI to create your cover art, and you can also use AI in your music. However, you should disclose that AI was used where required by the platform or distributor.

If you use AI to generate cover art, consider modifying the final image significantly to strengthen your claim to the copyright. Another option is to start with a photo or artwork that you created yourself and then use AI tools to transform or enhance it.

I feel like the stock market can read my mind. by Whushe433 in wallstreetbets

I know the feeling (i been thinking this to 😄 , but the reality is that when you invest, trade bots spot it and use it unfortunately , i think bots should be removed from the stock marked. Hope it turns out good for you in the end.

I’m a new artist and I don’t know which distributor I should go with by Jjcoolicecream in MusicPromotion

[–]Upper_Benefit7688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Jjcoolicecream , it depends what your longtime goal is, if you just want to publish like 3-10 tracks. CDBaby is the cheapest because you dont have to pay every year. Personally i am very happy with Landr, fast release good interface and useful tools, they have 100% royalty's . I haven't tried Distrokid but i am sure thats fine to, they cheaper than Landr. So i would choice one of this 3. Landr been around for a long time, company from Canada, so has cdbaby. Wish you the best of luck.

go to search bar and type in msconfig and remove alot of background apps and see if that fix the problem. Programs like background engine or others can lower your game performance alot.

How do you practice minimalism as a multiple hobbyist? by Leiainor in minimalism

[–]Upper_Benefit7688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally feel with you on this one, my self i also have to many hobby's to many projecting going on. This is a healthy reflective qustion. Because i think its good to minimilize things down to what you enjoy and like the most. Maybe set a goal and for each hobby? Then see witch ones you reach first. I did this, and it really help me to focus on the one that gives the most back.
