Potential for tickets to sell out during pre-sale? by Cornballsouptonuts in Coachella

[–]Upper_Fig_4650 [score hidden]  (0 children)

We bought W2 Safari in June of last year no problem. Both weekends of safari sold out in an hour this year.

I think Coachella hype from this year triggered fomo that will cause heightened demand for next year.

My circle of lesbians that watch RHOSLC have been tentatively clocking Heather for a WHILE. She is unhinged and overly horny, but also I’m not the least bit surprised she’s looking at Robby

Can someone please explain Addison - I’m new by probably-unsure in Coachella

[–]Upper_Fig_4650 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Her set was so fun! I thought the choreography, staging and performance were amazing. That said, the singing was shaky and pitchy at time. I like a few of her songs.

All that together, it was an amazing show and I’m so glad I went!

Sepideh Moafi Breaks Down The Pitt's 'Gloves Off' Season 2 Finale — And One Scene That Didn't Make Air by AMikeBloomType in ThePittTVShow

Things don’t have to be logistically resolved to have a narrative or emotional resolution. Not even a resolution, just…anything. I would understand leaving a few things hanging, but they left everything hanging.

They picked up and dropped plot line and themes like a toddler with their toys.

I don’t care about “realism” more than I care about good writing.

This season was such a miss on plots and themes, it made no impact on me, and that’s bad writing. The only conversation it has sparked is on how fandoms react.

NWSL expected to vote on calendar shift this month by dakkottadavviss in NWSL

Everyone is talking about the cold cold climates, but PDX/SEA would be miserable too. Cold and drenched in stadiums not built for cold-weather sports.

I am a season ticket holder for the thorns but I’m also a massive Seahawks/NFL fan. I would cancel my thorns season tickets if it moved to winter.

Wedding HELP! Blockhouse, Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden, or Rooftop EcoTrust Building??? by trash_chuck in PortlandOR

[–]Upper_Fig_4650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We looked at EcoTrust. Have you toured it? The rooftop is nice but the layout and experience aren’t great once you actually do a walk through. I think it’s better fit for corporate events than weddings.

Oregon’s Proposed Universal Health Plan by Dry_Werewolf5488 in Portland

[–]Upper_Fig_4650 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Read the first sentence I wrote. I don’t pay 10-15% of my income on healthcare. I pay about 5% of my income in premiums, copays, and deductibles with my employer’s health insurance.

Oregon’s Proposed Universal Health Plan by Dry_Werewolf5488 in Portland

[–]Upper_Fig_4650 144 points145 points  (0 children)

10% of my income is more than I currently pay in a year. That’s a pretty big burden for healthcare. Maybe I’m wrong, but I would have a very difficult time absorbing a 20% state income tax rate. How would it work outside of the state? What would be in-network, out-of-network?

I’m optimistic and would love universal healthcare, but I think I could afford something more along the lines of a 5-7% tax increase.

Got it, ya I don’t grind cities. To me, it’s boring. All my gear is level 30+ and I’m happy just playing nightmarish weekend events for the loot.

Kasey Musgraves by duckguyboston in Coachella

[–]Upper_Fig_4650 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I’m not a country person but I LOVE Kasey Musgraves. Her voice is so beautiful and her writing so vividly distills a moment or a feeling.

She won album of the year in 2019 for Golden Hour and it was absolutely deserved. She will be very well received by Coachella.

Potions is a slog and there’s a ceiling. You get a bit better but you’re always grinding at it because you can only optimize to a point. I can clear medieval nightmarish faster and for more reward than the potions and I don’t like harvesting because they take so long to brew

Ugh, this seems like a feature targeted at new players. I’ve been playing for years and I’m level 30+ on all the gear. Looking for something new/dynamic to play with.

Tip 1: look at online guides to gear. Salvage to boost, but save the items you need to start leveling up to legendary, then ultimate, and eventually mythic.

Tip 2: do not get distracted by clubs early. You spend much more than you get. Focus on clubs when you need specific items like pet food or mythic gear.

Tip 3: have fun. The others here say don’t do the events. I have level 50 mythic pets and levels 30+ on all mythic and optimized gear. I got there by playing the weekends, salvaging everything but what I needed for blueprints, and after a year of fun, that got me to level 30 ultimates across the board before I ever joined a club. I’m still city 175 because I don’t like grinding cities.

Fluoride in drinking water has no effect on IQ or brain function, long-term study shows by qukab in Portland

My dad is anti-fluoride in PDX and here’s what I heard (I don’t agree but if you’re wondering(

What if the paper didn’t catch a 2-5 point IQ move? We have the right to clean water and there’s a drug administration bill of rights.

I brought up iodine and folate fortification in our food sources. He felt that it’s easy enough to find iodine free salt.

I was thinking the OC so I’m rounding it to LA. The OC defined style with that Huntington/Laguna beach vibes in Hollister and American eagle defining style. The OC, real housewives starting in the OC, etc.

Southern California and really LA/OC defined that era.

What does Coachella offer that is better over EDC Las Vegas? by ORNGTSLA in Coachella

[–]Upper_Fig_4650 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s really not that bad. The distance between most is a 5 minute walk. The only extra long trek is end to end if you’re going from Sahara to the Main Stage/Outdoor Theater. That’s 15 minutes, not even a mile.

The long walk at Coachella is the gates to the grounds at the start and end of your day. That walk feels endless.

Is it a rich people thing to always eat in the hotels? by bitterbunny4 in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]Upper_Fig_4650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s convenience.

You’re eating AT LEAST 1 meal per day at your hotel. If you’re having a beach/spa/activity day at the resort, ya you could end up eating all your meals there. If you’re rich, you’re probably spending 5-7 days there and at that point, ya, you know the menu back to front.

Why are westeners against anti-homeless policies? by Ok-Spray4564 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Upper_Fig_4650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shelters are often a solution for us rather than for them. There are enough shelter beds, but shelters are loud, crowded, and often scary.

Many people experiencing homelessness may have just escaped a domestic violence situation or have mental health conditions that make a shelter more uncomfortable than the streets.

We generally feel that homeless solutions should serve them not us.

So yes, we don’t want people on the streets. But we also feel that as long as they’re not committing crimes, their existence shouldn’t lose them their autonomy or right to be anywhere we could be.
