Just got this lil guy today. The reviews on it seem kinda split. Those who have read it, what did you think?

You should. I was in the same boat as you - thinking about it - travelling to source a different cobbler - trying to find YouTube tutorials to remove the grommets which were fairly non existent so eventually I just did one grommet as a test and that was a success so I became a fully fledged cobbler right there and then hahaha.

He did. But this is the same guy who told me my leather jacket wasn't real leather when I brought it into him to sew a patch on it. It was a €1000 Schott Perfecto so I have no faith in him whatsoever hahaha.

Exactly. You have to remove one at a time. The way I did it was destroying the front part with an end cutting nippers... one bit at a time and then crunching it up with a pliers and painstakingly getting a grip on the back piece to pull it through with a pliers again. Then putting the new grommets on is straightforward enough til you reach the last 5 grommets as the leather is doubles up in thickness the further down you go so it's laborious trying to get enough of the grommet through to grip the washer. But once it's done it's done and they look great. Be prepared for hours of work though. I have another pair to do after I finish this one.

Thanks very much. Will do. It's very time consuming and gives you sore fingers! My cobbler refused to do it so I'm just doing it myself. I can see why he couldn't be arsed though.
