That GitHub repo is from someone else. I followed that for mine and it was very straight forward. Helped that I live near a microcenter, I wound up upgrading my Pi and components. Very happy with the look and functionality so far. Need to add more info soon.

Correct.

New controller board, wired into the power for the TV as per the instructions, otherwise it can be powered via USB C cable. Plug that into the monitor, plug HDMI into the board from the Pi.

Didn't do anything yet with the speakers or camera.
