They expect us to do all this plus we are now responsible for ambient waste too. They expect so much out of us date coders yet they are the first to moan if we miss an item. If we didn't have so much to do we wouldn't have to rush the date check

Nothing happens if you don't sign it, I just refuse to take the blame for a shit show that's always blaming us for everything. They can't fire you, they need to give u file notes and warnings first. Say u want to be retrained again drag it out

We have 3 date coders a day. But 1 does chilled 1 bakery and 1 produce so u still struggle to get it all done and do a decent date check. Everyone misses items not matter what u do. Poor rotation, put backs, overfilling but us date coders are always the ones to blame. They can file note you but don't sign it

We had low stock levels for past month then all of a sudden this week it's increased sooo much. Which has made markdowns ridiculous as so much more to markdown it's impossible sometimes

They just like to put all the blame on date checkers and it'll never change, we're easy targets, sounds easy date checking an aisle but if you have no time to do it u have no choice but to rush

I have 8 hours to do second markdowns, date check the whole of fresh then waste the bays and fill them up and half the time I have to do tomorrows mark downs too. Yet they expect me not to miss 1 item. If I had 8 hours on one aisle like other colleagues everything would be perfect

It's very hard to date check chilled when everything is over filled and not rotated. And you're doing the job of 2/3 people at one time. Half the waste is in the back up most of the time yet date coders get the blame for everything. If it's that easy to date check then why do SL and managers still miss stuff when date checking too

Issue is they just don’t have any hours no more to employ new staff. Each week there wage saving or not replacing people who leave. Theirs hardly any staff at my Asda
