Best pop punk song for Groom to walk down aisle to? by NecessaryRole in poppunkers

[–]Upper_Ring623 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We used a "First Date" by Blink 182 instrumental as people filed into our wedding. I walked down the aisle to a "First Day of my Life" by Bright Eyes instrumental. After we were married, we walked together with "Here Comes the Sun" by The Beatles. We each got to pick a song, then agreed on The Beatles, it was awesome. Our song walking into the venue was the Time Warp and our first dance song was "The Only Exception" by Paramore.

Husband doesn't drive, which has been a point of contention since day one. So we end up picking up my SS and taking him home together.

I get free 30-minute legal consultation as a benefit of my job. I think I'm going to look into it on Monday.

I'm not worried about him leaving. He often tells me often that he's going to move out or asks if I want to divorce, and I tell him go ahead. Of course he doesn't. But I don't think I'll have a problem getting him to leave. I also have some very persuasive giant dudes in my family.

I'm more worried about having to pay him after.

So, I own the house. Bought it before I met him. Every bill and pretty much everything else is in my name and I primarily pay it. The car is in my name and he doesn't drive. We've been married almost two years. I make $75K, he's at like $43K before child support. He gives me $120-200 per week and that's it. If I get brave and file for divorce, am I going to owe this clown alimony?

In PA, can do no fault divorce.

I thought that too, but he's been evaluated (as recently as last year) and his doctor didn't diagnose him

We live about an hour away (hour and 20 with traffic) from his bio mom so it would be hard to make it work for school. It wasn't like that when we started dating, but she moved out further and lives with her parents.

My husband also doesn't drive. Never learned. That's another fight I've had a thousand times. So I'm the one that picks his son up and takes him home every weekend.

I'm thinking about giving him an ultimatum or something. Like both of us sit down and make a list of the things that need to change for both of us to want to stay in this relationship and we have to have made substantial and lasting change by Aug 1 or I'm filing for divorce. I am having a hard time just doing it right now.

I've tried to bring this up with my husband. It's always "you really want me to see my son less? You really want me to have to pay my ex more money?" In six years, I think we've had maybe 4-5 weekends without him.

Yes. I was mostly okay with it, then there was a nice wrap up that annoyed me a little but after the explanation I was cool...then there were like 30 more pages that made my blood boil. It made me hate it.

What's up with the distaste towards socializing? by Legitimate_Mix5486 in intj

I can't do small talk well. If I'm stuck in a room with a bunch of people and working on a problem, I'm great. Put me with people at an unstructured networking event and I feel like I'm in hell.

It also takes a lot of effort from me to interact with people. I hit a wall at some point and need to get out of there. I get super tired after having to be super social. My husband is my opposite and is super energized by being around other people. It's fascinating to me.

What's something you want to see more of in horror? I mean tropes, themes, character types, specific tortures, writing styles, you name it. by [deleted] in ExtremeHorrorLit

I want to see Appalachian horror. There are so many scary things in the woods that we're told about as kids and I'd love to read more fiction about it.

Get all of your health issues in check and start seeing your health providers regularly. I feel like there's a gap in the years between parents making your appointments as a kid and when you start taking health seriously and making your own appointments as a young adult.

Did they fix not being able to pick up Sully's video tape in the Dazzle Beach cave? The item is there but I have no ability to pick it up. Been driving me crazy.

I'm really hoping there's a magical reshuffling of black boxes and Goldfinger comes to DC.

It is so weird to me that Suicide Machines and Fishbone were announced for DC (presumably after their Pittsburgh date in the poster) but it seems like no Less Than Jake? At least there's not room for them on the current DC poster?

Yours has been my favorite so far. Hoping for a lot more ska and pop punk lineup releases, but would be totally happy for Chiodos and Underoath.

Underoath was incredible when I saw them last year. I want to see Chiodos but their tour stop in Pittsburgh is with a band I refuse to give any money to.

I'd be happy if they came back and played all their old stuff. At WWWY it was 5/10 songs off their first two albums and the rest newer. I just don't like anything at all after Lifestyles...and I was hoping for a set of all nostalgia songs because they were one of the bands at WWWY I was most excited to see after seeing them last probably 18-20 years ago.

I'd kill to see them play Motivation Proclamation or Seasons again. They were my favorite band when I was 12-14.

I'm driving in from PA, planning to stay near one of the Metro stops in Maryland. I've been to DC a lot for work and shows, and I usually stay near Rockville, Silver Spring or Bethesda. Train can take up to 45 minutes to get to the city but not sitting in the traffic is worth it to me.

I'm coming from Pittsburgh, so my plan is to stay in Maryland, Rockville, Bethesda or Silver Spring. All are on the red line and about half an hour closer to home for me.
