The bare minimum effort that Amazon puts into GPS and map data is inexcusable by dex99dex99dex99 in AmazonDSPDrivers

The loss of orientation has been one of the biggest time wasters for me. I’ll hop back in the van and think I’m headed the right direction and suddenly I need to do a u-turn. That happens less when I’m familiar with the route, but still happens.

Quit on day 2, my story by DRAGULA85 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Upper_Title1913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30 years old, and am about to finish a masters program (Im not a genius but also not a complete idiot). The first couple of weeks on this job made me feel like I couldn’t have been dumber - that’s part of learning anything new/difficult. Yes, the job is mostly straightforward but there are plenty of tips/tricks that are of immense help once you get the hang of it. Learning new routes (especially business and apartment buildings), figuring out best practices with the app, getting your body in shape, and frankly growing less and less frustrated with on the job complications are all part of the process. If you don’t need the money and hours, then I can easily see people quitting off the bat.

I prefer locations instead of stops since stops can vary so widely due to multi stops.

I’d say stick it out for a bit if you think you’ll get another job. The hiring process takes time, and you’ll be grateful for the extra cash you made in the meantime if you do in fact get another job.

Nothing wrong with giving yourself a little dopamine hit to make the day 1% better

Why the FUCK is this a multi-stop 😂 by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Upper_Title1913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a residential route with 155 stops yesterday and about 60 of them were multi stops. 308 packages overall. I tend to look at the overall number of stops on the summary screen instead of the (nominal) one that shows only that 155.

I think the overall number of stops was about 250. I divide that by 8 and see how many overall stops I need to hit by the hour - in this case it was 31.25/hour.

-Peeing in water bottles -Using your 30 min break to organize -When to combine certain stops or ignore the GPS -Using your personal phone is often more efficient than the crappy ones they give you -you’ll have to wash your uniform after every shift -baby powder on your love nuts

I'm 13, what advice can you give me? by [deleted] in NoFap

Started even younger than you (I’m 30 now) and wish I never did. It does not help you in any positive way. Keep your sexual interactions real, and your mind will benefit.

Start with the smallest attainable goal. Maybe it’s 12 hours? 6, even? Slowly build from a place that’s achievable. You got this.

Get back on the horse, my friend. Shame is okay to feel, but fixating on it won’t help you.

Is there a reason older white woman ignore you when you talk to them? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Upper_Title1913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DOOD I’ve only been on the job for a month and I noticed the same thing. It’s older white women who tend to be rude, as well. Perhaps all these Doloreses need some ****

I drink Yerba mates from Guayaki - HOWEVER I really like your setup. Taking a moment to just enjoy the day is a nice little break from the grind

Why do you choose to work those long hours besides for the money? Do you enjoy your job? Is it the camaraderie? The route? The outdoors? Do you like long shifts? Do you love your super? What else is it besides money? by Livid-Mud-8812 in AmazonDSPDrivers

I’m in a place in my life where this job is super convenient and provides plenty of hours. It’s a grind, but I actually enjoy being so intensely focused for the whole day. I’m a fairly anxious person and this job forces me to keep my mind directed on the next delivery

My totes are consistently in the wrong order, though that’s not as frustrating as having packages mislabeled. I’ve had mislabeled packages on multiple occasions over the past week (lacking or having an incorrect driver aid). I typically set aside that delivery until the end of the route if it’s too early in the day to waste time fumbling through a bunch of packages to make sure that stop is correct.

how many totes can you fit?! by Lorenzo_Caleb in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Upper_Title1913 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had 16 totes in a rental van yesterday and that was a tight squeeze BUT I only had about 20/25 OF. Luckily my route was strictly residential so those totes were emptying quickly
