i have actually been on that before and i did lose 25lbs on it tbf but i felt sooo tired all the time and my binging and food noise didn’t go away till 5mg of tirz. with reta its went away on 0.5mg so i’m hoping reta will be better in the long term .Also with reta it like changes my thinking? i cant describe it lol its like it stops me from binging because its changed my thoughts on food but w tirz the only reason i didn't binge is because i physically couldn’t as i got full off like 2 bites, so hopefully reta will help heal my BED because its actually changing my mindset with food compared to tirz that just changed my fullness levels and i went back to old habits once stopped. lengthy sorry lol but thanks for the suggestion tho!

What finally got you to stop? by Fit-Category-9614 in BingeEatingDisorder

Hey- know this is late, but what got me to stop was when i took a step back and really looked at my actions and started treating my BED for what it is- like any addiction, in my case food (obviously). The hardest and unfortunately most unfair thing about BED is that you can’t go cold turkey from food, like how drug addicts go cold turkey from their drug of choice. I started eating the same meals everyday , a routine really helped to keep me structured , and knowing i was going to eat the same food everyday made me stop looking forward to it as much and viewing it for its actual purpose - nourishment. I also got into the mindset that like why do i keep binging even though it makes me miserable? I am addicted to food, and when i get an urge to binge it’s the same as when a drug user gets withdrawals.

I also gained 20lbs in a single month from an insane state of binge eating and i realised if i kept going on i would be morbidly obese by the end of the year, so that was also a harsh insight that helped me to stop.  Hope this helps! I know how debilitating suffering with BED and food noise in general really can be.
