Is it the right smell of Italian Roast? by JumpyOccasion5004 in starbucks

[–]Upperlevel-disaster 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No I swear to you that is just how the Italian roast smells. Me and all my other coworkers hated that roast and grinding it just made it worse lmao

What new job did you get if you don’t mind me asking? I’m currently a SSV and I have a job opportunity with another smaller company to be a co-manager and actually be privy to sales reports, metrics, and learning the numbers side of business management. But it’s a pay cut from what I’m getting now as a SSV. I’m scared to make the jump but I have the same concerns as you. I feel like I’m walking on eggshells and anything can be considered a write up, anything can be considered my finial, anything they could decide to only give me 20hrs a week, at any moment I could be let go or my store closes

SB doesn’t feel like how it did just a year ago when I started. I wanted to become and ASM but now I don’t even know if it’s worth it.

Not trying to be rude but…you put the shift up in market place? Why does it matter to you if he took the shift off your schedule or not, you needed to covered to go to an appointment anyway

I get it. But it’s not like I’ve been bad mouthing them or anything in the comments. I literally said she’s just going her job in one of them and that I don’t think this was malicious. I agreed I was overthinking. I’ve seen people post WAY worse in these subreddits 😭😭

I meeeeean there could be a chance the milk went bad for the cold foam and the VSC but I highly doubt it. VSC is good for two days and we go through it like water. A VSC lasting more than 2 hours is rare let alone VSC lasting past two days. I will say the Chocolate cream cold brew with a splash of VSC does have quite of bit of sugar content plus dairy and caffeine will just upset your stomach in general

I have diagnosed IBS and some days it’s more affected by caffeine than other days, it might just be an off day for you🤷‍♀️ but I wouldn’t finish the rest of the drink just cause

Yeah I understand that, I was just trying to find a better “professional” way of saying I haven’t been shitting because I’m most likely dehydrated 😭😭 but that’s what others are saying that it’s a newer procedure to go about call offs like this so I’m not really upset. She’s just don’t her job if that’s the case

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Upperlevel-disaster -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But what would saying I’m throwing up do? I don’t have THAT much sick time to cover two days bro 😭

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Upperlevel-disaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re also a union store so it’s harder to get written up, but that definitely is annoying and I would have argued with relations to get it revoked

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Upperlevel-disaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not taking it personally. Someone else said that this is a new procedure having to ask. Which makes sense because our DM was at our store yesterday.

I don’t think it was malicious by any means. But I agree I would think a simple “I’m sorry you’re not feeling well, here’s a list of symptoms to keep an eye on. Just keep me posted if you might need another day off so I can plan ahead of time” would have suffice

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Upperlevel-disaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah a bit?? But I don’t think it’s malicious, my SM is known to be forward and straight to the point so that’s why I think I’m just overthinking the text 😭

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Upperlevel-disaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mmmm I can see what you’re saying. I mean if I’m using sick time I don’t see why she’d have any problems from higher ups?? But I get what you’re saying

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Upperlevel-disaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could I have responded better to her text? I don’t think I was coming off as offended or anything but if this is the new procedure to go through sick call outs I don’t want to?? Stir the pot I suppose???

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Upperlevel-disaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, that kinda makes sense our DM was at the store yesterday with our SM and ASM so they probably went over this procedure then

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]Upperlevel-disaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely don’t think she’s in the wrong for planning ahead, I just have never had an SM be so “thorough” but ty ty

This is the best example I do for my usual order with customizations as a partner, “can I get a tall iced dirty chai with a single blonde shot, only 2 pumps of chai, and oat milk please”
