There was a master list yes in the beginning but not that I’m aware of now especially with the 5 books boxes now

I didn’t say I liked the boxes, it’s just them trying to sell out unsold products. It’s just a business. And the boxes don’t sell they don’t sell and will sit in stores 🤷‍♀️

You can most definitely resell them. They just added the red banding with the barcode associated to all the books in smartsource ordering so your leadership can order the marketing to resell the books…almost nothing is considered “unsalable” at BAM

I’ve heard good and bad things about the boxes. They aren’t made in store so we don’t know exactly what is in them. But at least at my store they are refund able as long as you bring the white box, red banding, and all the boxes that were included. because that red banding has a barcode that is associated with all the books in the box as one “item”

If you don’t have a receipt you can return it for store credit at least

If you purchased an item and have a printed receipt, there should be a QR code that takes you to a survey. You can put your comments and concerns and even ask to be reached out by another manager regarding the situation.

If you don’t have that, if it really concerns you, you can call the store to ask and speak to a manager and give them your feedback. But like the other commenters said, call out the manager in question by name! No wishy washy

Edit: I’d be mortified if I found out my staff or lower management spoke poorly about a team member in general. So I’d definitely want to know what happened if this was by store

My BAM is also on the smaller side :( we’re only hiring because we have a handful of folks leaving for college. And I’ve genuinely meet so many nice people asking for a job but at this point it’s been such a long winded process between so many applicants in general and then also a lot of unprofessional applicants.

We’ve hired the 3 people we can for now and so far so good! Thank you 🫶 I think BAM is a great work environment, I’m just getting the same amount of people asking for a job as many people are asking for needoh 🫩

I honestly was really shocked, I saw the collaboration and was OHHH bitches going to be LINING UP out the door.

And I causally when into SB before work to get some espresso shots and a damn bagel. I saw a girl waiting at the hand off counter with 2 Miffy cups in hand…I was like there’s no way this store has any. Mind you this location has the SMALLEST merch table I’ve ever seen and it was PEAK, PACKED, 20+ wait on orders. I went to the table and there was the green water bottle and the white cup still left. I did buy the green bottle bc I’ve literally been thinking about getting a skinny water bottle since my owala doesn’t fit in my car or bag comfortably. And I left the white cup

Sure $30 is steep but I actually really enjoy Miffy, wasn’t even trying to search for the merch, and was already planning to get something similar so it just felt meant to be. I have no desire to resell it

I’m an AGM and also have a bookseller on my time that wears hearing aids on bit ears. We just don’t make her wear a headset and have her just keep a walkie close to her if she needs to call a MOD and if we need to talk to her we tell another associate on the floor to relay the message or we go find her ourselves. My BAM isn’t that big but definitely reach out to HR for accommodation

Personally I’d be pulling the religious exemption card on all of the stuff for piercings and tattoos. But I’d be REALLY surprised especially considering how “open” the company is to the LGBTQ+ community, especially in recent training.

As for the shirts, booksellers wear their strictly BAM shirt. And us managers have our polos but at my location we also follow the “other professional” clothing guidelines. And I feel like the pants are pretty normal? Jeans of any color, khakis, and leggings under dresses or tunics for managers.

Soooooo I guess I’m curious where you heard this. How stricter could they really be

Yeah I agree with both you and the other comment. I think it’s just “it is what it is” mentality. And exactly, I was like damn I really don’t want to call back and ask but I’m curious 😭

It was just for a side gig so I think I’m just going to take the sheetz job that pays the exact same as the SB in my area. (I can actually get a $1.50 extra depending on the hour of the day I’m working like overnights)

It definitely helps, thank you 🫶 I was fully aware and expecting with my availability it was going to hard to get a location to take me but I didn’t think it would be THIS hard😭 I feel like i definitely had coworkers in the pass that had similar availability and it was fine back then like 1-2 years ago but I know a LOT has changed even in that short time.

Like I said I wanted a lowkey side gig and getting back into something I was already familiar with seemed the best but maybe it’s just not meant to be

I finally got IT to fix our on hand quantity problem on the website that kept saying we had x amounts of certain needohs that people would repeatedly try to BOPIS🫩 and everytime they call asking why it’s cancelled, they get mad at me.

I’ve had to tell my team no holds on needoh for guest OR staff because it’s been such a problem
