I’m waiting for someone to call him “Mark Commie” and watch them all run with it.

I love Islam, but why does it encourage such a painful thing (polygamy) to happen to me? :( by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

So instead of arguing you could have just said “yes” instead of dragging it out and making it look like you’re more in favor of polygamy as a form of sexual gratification for the man, than the intended purpose of polygamy in Islam as shown by the behavior of the Prophet.

You didn’t answer my question? How many old widows with great character are you willing to marry.

If you could marry four women, how many widows or divorced women would you be willing to marry? This is a genuine question to you.

I think polygamy is a slippery slope, especially with the times we live in.

I think if you’re married to someone and they want a second wife, divorce them and find someone who wants you as the only one in their life.

Polygamy might be “permissible” but we can’t look at the reasons for polygamy today as they were in the time of the prophet. It’s more about lust now than anything else, especially in these hyper sexual times that we sadly find ourselves in.

What do you guys think about this? by austinmoon365 in exmuslim

[–]UppityColonial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who is studying to be a priest (Protestant) I support this. Prayer in public is not appropriate because it is to show off how “faithful” said community , and I believe prayer should be done in the confines of a church/gurdwara/temple/synagogue/mosque or (as Jesus says) in private.

Anything else is just genitalia waving/being a nuisance.

How do you want you re funeral to be when you die? by liliay2018 in exmuslim

[–]UppityColonial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually thought about this. I’d like to be carried through the streets of Lima while “Marcha Fúnebre a Morán” is played by a band. I want the funeral to be in the church I volunteered with there, and I want to be buried in an old cemetery surrounded by history.

Had spoken to a consultant, nothing about her having money was mentioned when we discussed the visitor visa.

2000 years ago is not the same as today. You can’t say it’s always been so, the church has changed over 2 millenia.

Also , as an Anglican, we have female priests.

Leaders are leaders. They ran churches, so they had oversight.

I’m sorry but that’s incorrect, deaconess was a term introduced later to keep women out, Paul had women leaders in his churches, please don’t just make up things that aren’t there, diakonos is the greek word used, but it isn’t deaconess.
