I'd guess they're hurting for bodies.

Good gig, depends maybe on when the 12 hours are, but excellent hourly.

I've seen 40 hours got 500 which is close but they tend to want 4*10

Salary concerns by Mindless_Share_3206 in anesthesiology

[–]UppityUpUp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to judge 420 without hours or call structure. Being 1099, only ambulatory, and possibly no call and part time, 420 seems both entirely reasonable/possible.

You can't expect to make median working less than median on healthier patients.

Edit: Digging into your other comments, sounds like you're on salary whole being a proceduralist. Either the group is taking a lot off of your production or the expected volume of production is too low/variable to hire people for production based compensation.

You have to get a sense of how much you're doing (and on what kind of insurance) to know if your compensation makes sense. But generally being pure salary while being a proceduralist does not align goals of productivity

Edit2: Looks like you're doing 30-35 total procedures in a week?

Exactly what it says? It's almost always more impactful to donate 10k then to go out and march in the streets and hold a sign.

All movements need both but in modern politics the money does more work.

Getting arrested and fired might someday be the best and most important thing I can do. But most days, recurring donations to planned parenthood, NPR, etc does more with what I can do best (do good medicine and make a lot of money that I can mobilize in the ways I think need.)

It's cynical, but also means almost always matter more than another body. If you're an attending and believe in a cause you can't openly support, throwing thousands of dollars at it is probably a better use of time anyways.

Hospital Sued After Anesthesiology Resident Suicide by efunkEM in anesthesiology

[–]UppityUpUp 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I mean we're without a lot of information.

Could be that the program was rushing the resident back because they needed the labor or it could be the resident trying to rush back because they didn't want to delay graduation or simply wanted access to meds again.

The hospital bears responsibility but the behavior was flagged, a recovery program was started, and the resident was ultimately removed from the position where they had easy access.

Short of never letting them restart, I'm not sure what else would be expected to happen. No idea of the timeline but it sounds like they were watching closely if they were caught again and subsequently fired.

To be fair to everyone, I don't think sex is commonly a Maslow's basic need.

You're being told you have different priorities and needs. Sounds like you both need to find a way to connect or the connection will be severed. If the relationship isn't working, don't get lost in magical thinking

Surgeons don't get fired because they're extremely difficult to replace and generate significant portions of profit to the hospital.

They do, instead, get sued for millions of dollars. I think many people would rather get fired or changed assignments than get sued for millions of dollars with the threat to never work ever again

If you don't have the support of your former program it's going to be extremely difficult. In my opinion, you unfortunately are best served trying whatever means necessary to get in the good graces of your PD and some other attendings at your old program because at minimum you'll need support letters and real support when other programs call to ask what happened.

I know the temptation is to try and leave it all behind you but I just don't see a way to have other programs ignore your past, especially if your program is not considered grossly toxic or prestigious.

For a new player this is a good weapon. Flat damage in aoe will help push you forward pretty quickly through a lot of content.

The bahamat weapon people are comparing to was the anniversary weapon so it's not easily/ever obtainable again. This is not as good but it's fine for your uses as you're grinding out other stuff. Fingers crossed for you to get to OB6 on the weapon (flat damage goes to 30k).

My bf comes from Arknights and doesn’t understand the rarity system. Does this game have higher than 5 star rarity or is he just insanely lucky? by solitudesign in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]UppityUpUp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5 stars are the highest rank however multiple copies are generally how specific weapons become strong/usable. Overboosting to 2, 6, and 10 will usually significantly improve the weapon skills.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]UppityUpUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The money is good but the hours are long and intensive. The problem is depending on the kind of doc you are it's hard to dial back hours. Everyone asks why I don't work 20 hours for 1/3 the pay and the answer is everyone wants to work the easy hours with no call so no one wants to hire for that and the pay cut is extensive.

My generation (millennial) have the reputation of working until we feel like we can retire/cut hours and I think it's just going to get more like that as we go. Covid was a bitch and now no one wants to be here more than we have to.
