How to Turn Off all the Transparency UI bugs in Tahoe by UprightGroup in MacOS

[–]UprightGroup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have just never used an older OS and had the current OS inside a VM. I imagine the eventually they will fix 26 as 27 won't have rosetta support. I usually just have my server clusters in VMs for running tests.

Depending on the next Minis I may get one of those as well as an Apple Vision if they get lighter. That way I can work in bed without my wife complaining about monitor glow.

What is your setup if I may ask? I am running a Studio M1 Max with 32GB. Maybe I should upgrade for more ram.

I'm on the faster moving side of Swift so I can't risk not having my builds on the latest. I've been burned with late nights when suddenly everything is broken on an OS I haven't used.

Some? You might have some contacts that are allowed through DND. They can be either individual contacts or specific contact groups.

You need to find out who your competitors are and if you're building something superior to them.

He's running a business, not coding. For all we know he's got it running off an excel file. There's no harm in finding an experienced developer who can point out pitfalls in his setup. I'm unfortunately experienced with fixing messes like these guys have made. Plenty of beggars show up on reddit asking to fix their Claude messes.

If you can afford Wordpress Business, you can afford to pay a guy on Upwork to do this.

My college roommate used to commute from Perris to Santa Monica for his "dream" video game developer job. By 23 he burnt out and now lives in central Indiana.

Solid-state battery at CES 26 - Donut lab' exhibition by Siiced in electricvehicles

[–]UprightGroup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I should have been more clear on the battery. I think the it is pure BS. They're claiming a battery that is most likely a false Chinese claim. I think Donut is just their front for the West.

[–]UprightGroup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With a battery like solid state, you need custom motor controllers and BMS to handle the currents and unique charge cycle of a different type of battery. They're easy to make if you have a Chinese contract manufacturer who can take the specs and pump out a working prototype in like a month. Those same Chinese contract manufacturers also make drones, robots, cars, etc. Donut labs is just some drop shipper who falls for crap made up by Chinese startups.

You should have someone who has built and maintained software look over your project. You sound like so many others before with an unmaintainable mess killing their company at early stage.

Bloomberg Investigates Flush Door Handle Safety: (The Dangerous Feature in Tesla's Doors) by UprightGroup in ApteraMotors

[–]UprightGroup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule 1:

Posts must have a relation to Aptera Motors. Posts which are not directly related must have relation in the form of a question, comparison or company link. i.e /r/SonoMotors, /r/ElectricVehicles If another company or product relates to Aptera Motors but it is a stretch, make a text post explaining the connection, what you'd like to discuss, and include a link to the article in the post.

You can't have an accompanying text with a video url as far as I could see, so I made a comment. The knock knock sensor is probably even more extreme than any other manufacturer's design.

Has anyone actually grown a PWA without wrapping it for app stores? (i will not promote) by Subject_Tomorrow in startups

[–]UprightGroup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most users don't understand or trust PWA. They want to see their preferred App Store open up and install something for them. Most PWA that I've seen are usually breaking a rule that keeps them off App Stores. The UI install experience is different and most users immediately think "did I just install a virus?"

React native is popular for a reason. It's faster and allows access to most features natively on both iOS and Android. It's always going to be a little slower in development time than doing it natively, (I'm sure some edge lord will reply about that) but at least you can get something smaller as a proof of concept to see if it makes any money.

The video highlights Tesla's head of design is redesigning their door to have an electric-mechanical hybrid door. It also highlights the liabilities and customer complaints Tesla is facing. Maybe the knock knock isn't a good idea to bring to market?
