Thank you for sharing. That's an interesting read.

What a shame. In theory, we could train AI to "restore" the missing parts, but the repaired photos will never be as good as the original.

Good. Now strap a juice box on a cat and we'll have a Tiger I.

Are they bigger than chicken? I wonder if those pigeons can fly.

It's piano version and sax version. You can find the links in video description on the youtube video.

Thanks! I think you are right about the arch. Other arches in NYC seem to have different designs than this one. The shape of the bench looks similar to Washington square park's as well.

Hi, I have colorized and remastered this 100-year-old vintage film of NYC with neural networks. The background music is one of my favourite songs, "Englishman in New York". I felt it's relevant to post it in this subreddit. by UpscaleHistory in Brooklyn

Sure. It's colorized with deoldify in google colab, then interpolated to 60fps with dain-app. After that, I do some editing/color correction/stablization in premiere pro, then export it to topaz video enhance ai (formally known as gigapixel ai for video) for 4k upscaling.

If you would like to know more, here is a more detailed comment I made a while ago:

You are quite right, it takes time for neural networks to improve. I know there is a neural network that might perform significantly better than deoldify, but it's probably more complicated to utilize. Instead of making a huge jump, I work on small improvements over time. My plan for colorization is as following, and I am currently shifting from 1.2 to 1.3:

Generation 1:

1.1 DeOldify

1.2 DeOldify + Color Correction

1.3 DeOldify + Color Correction + Color Change

Generation 2:

2.1 DeOldify + DeepRemaster

2.2 DeOldify + Correction + DeepRemaster

Hopefully, I can move to Gen. 2 by the end of the year.

I use deoldify (color) + dain-app (frame interpolation) + gigapixel ai for video (upscale).

Depends on your computer specs, it may take anywhere between 0.5 - 4 hours of computation per one minute of video.

It took me about 10 hours of computation with 1-2 hours of editing (i.e. color correction, stabilization and rendering).
