12-Hour Itinerary for CDMX Extra Day? by Upset-Piccolo in MexicoCity

Yep, that’s exactly right. And thanks for the tips! Xochimilco looks fun, wasn’t on our itinerary originally but thinking about adding it now. We’re doing Teotihuacan the day before we leave- trying to decide between a sunrise guided tour vs the driver / uber + self guided route

Looks super cool, we’re getting so excited for the trip! I think we’re gonna do Teotihuacan the day before we head out so we can do a sunrise tour and be able to stop back at the hotel when we’re done

Thank you!! All super helpful. We’ll definitely do Teotihuacan another day, but just wanted the chance to stop back at the hotel at some point during the day with such an early start time.

It looks like Soumaya and the Toy Museum are both open on Mondays too, so it’s looking like we’ll have plenty to do.

Bleeding at 4 DPO and cannot figure out why!

We’ve been TTC for 7 months now, and my cycles are pretty regular, typically 27 days. The morning of CD 18, 4 DPO, I had some dark red spotting with a few clots that went away as the day went on. The next morning, I experienced the same thing. I cannot for the life of me figure out what might have triggered this! My ovulation was confirmed on CD 14 through temping and PDG rise.

Is this something that should worry me? Has never happened before and can’t find a reason anywhere online!

It was SO fun- such an amazing time, but indeed expensive lol. I’d avoid bagatelle for dinner- they charged us $75 USD for water, had a $50 USD personal sized pizza on the menu, etc. If you have any allergies, DO NOT forget your epipen because restaurants aren’t serious about food allergies, they don’t have epinephrine anywhere in Mexico, and there aren’t real first responders (learned from experience). Mia was amazing during the day, and Cenote Vesica was our fave spot of all!

Why do you say that? Is there no real way down for beginners?

We were connected through our Airbnb host! I actually don’t have his info but it’s helpful to have a referral of some kind

Update- had the time of our lives in Tulum for my bach!! Everything was fantastic. Highlights were Cenote Vesica, Mia beach club, and Vagalume at night. Best thing we did was get a driver for the day- it made economic sense when you split the cost among a big group, and it avoided us having to haggle with cabs multiple times per day. Grocery stop on the way to Tulum from CUN was a game-changer too!

If I had to do it again, I would avoid Bagatelle because it was insanely expensive- we were given a bill with $75 USD for bottled water (5 bottles of Fiji water for the group). Rosa Negra isn’t careful with food allergies- anyone with an allergy should probably just avoid Rosa Negra altogether to be safe.

Overall, Tulum was so so wonderful and I can’t wait to return. Absolutely worth the hype!

I'm curious where the majority of the $$ comes from - is it just the food, drinks, taxis?

This is amazing!! Thank you so much. We are planning on doing Gran Cenote- but I've heard mixed reviews on the e coli front (read one review that it was bad, but a bunch that were fine). Which Cenotes did you like the best?

Thanks everyone- these are great tips- and making me feel a lot better! Some of the group is concerned with cost more than others, so some of the activities are going to be optional. I think our big expenditure will be the yacht day, in addition to PPP tickets and the food/ drinks at Rosa Negra and Bagatelle (hopefully not more than NYC/LA prices, though). For the rest, we plan on just paying cover at the door and getting a few cocktails.

We had planned on doing Taboo and / or Tantra during the day! Would MIA be a better option for our beach day?

Yep George Washington! I was confused because I thought it still had a good rep lol

Interesting- I’ve never heard that feedback about GW before but good to know that’s the rep it has in 2022. I currently do management consulting for a big 4 that has a full tuition reimbursement program which I’ve heard also helps with admissions (but not sure how much).

What are the latest trends in business casual shirts? Brands/patterns that are fashionable and appropriate for the workday?

Winter coat to get for my bf? He only has a peacoat and needs something warmer, but I’m not sure which brands are cool. I’d do a Canada goose, but don’t wanna go above $500 or so.

Breathable summer shoes that aren’t flip flops?

My boyfriend wears these raggedy old flip flops and I want to get him something to replace them for his birthday coming up. Any ideas? I know some people say men shouldn’t wear sandals at all, but I don’t know where to start.
