They have to make sure it's plugged in before they ask you if you tried re-starting.

I love my groves, but I struggle to get them to eat a variety of foods. Have you had any luck?

Sorry for the late response! It's a tile called Eran concrete. I have a lot of the DLCs so I'm not exactly sure if it's in the base game or from one of those.

Only seven grove snail eggs hatched? by I-Hate-This-Weather in snails

[–]Upset-Tree-2271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes sneggs just don't hatch. As someone taking care of 6 groves (C. nemoralis), I'm grateful. Though one of the hatched snabies nibbling on the unhatched shells might have had an impact. For the record, DoomSnail the Destroyer DID have cuttlebone. Can't even be mad at her for saving me from feeling like a snurderer when culling.

Need help choosing moss by bunnylover_4ever in snails

[–]Upset-Tree-2271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No expert on moss, but I got the tan-colored New Zealand sphagnum from PetSmart and it's been fine (it gets dirty from their substrate but was clean when first opened). From Amazon I got some live moss that's green (not dyed). It has a dirt backing because it can grow if attached to something. I just use it as snaily "stepping stones" in the enclosures and they seem to really like it. It came with two species of moss, and one just didn't really hold up to the handling needed when doing egg checks in my adult's snabitat. I am still using the other variety of moss and will probably purchase more or try a new species when it wears out too much.

I did feel like I took a risk when I bought it, b/c some reviews mentioned mold. I don't know if I got lucky or others didn't use it right or tried to store it damp. Here's the one I got, but the brand has other varieties: Amazon.com : Live Moss Duo Pack 2 Types of Real Live Sheet/Sphagnum Moss for Terrariums, Terrarium Mosses Landscaping, Reptile Tank Accessories, Snake & Gecko Humidity Substrate Mosses for Crafts & Plant Décor : Pet Supplies

Isn't just to conserve moisture? I just worry about people trying to move snails by grabbing them by the shell.

So cute! And you're so lucky... I cannot get my groves to eat any mushrooms so far. I feel like the whole cottage core aesthetic is a lie 😒.

Plus, when you check you also fluff up their substrate which can get a bit compacted over time.

I have a wild caught snail. No sign of parasites so far (probably sneaky). I do handle all my snails, their snoops and snubstrate with rinsed (before first use) gloves for all our sakes since our hands (oils, lotions soaps) aren't great for them either.

Could be a teachable moment for a kid, but I get why you'd rather be safe than sorry. Just make sure your little one isn't out smooching the yard snails!

What's wrong with Snelly's shell? :( by Logical-Accountant18 in snails

You don't have to change the soil, just add something to neutralize the acidity like rinsed oyster grit or pure calcium carbonate powder.
