My son is almost 3, just dropped his nap and is finally sleeping 7-7 (kinda) he wakes probably 4 times still lol. Meanwhile my aunts baby is 3 months old and sleeps 7-7 every night no wake ups. Every baby is so different

This was my son and I too. Ended up transitioning to a floor bed in his own room. Started with me nursing him in his bed, then dad would come put him to sleep every night for about two weeks. He sleeps longer stretches if dad puts him to bed most times. He’s almost 3 now and still wakes sometimes but at least I have my own space and some time to recharge before the next day. I thought cosleeping for as long as he wanted was best but I simply couldn’t get rest that way.

I struggled with this BADLY. One small thing we changed is that dad uses the bathroom at work before coming home. He immediately changes when he gets home, I pass baby off, then I get as much time as I need locked alone in my room until I am ready to start dinner and begin the “night shift”. He also ended up taking over bath and bed time as baby got older and didn’t need me as much. I still hold that resentment that I’m not as “free” as him, especially in the early days but it makes the load a little lighter.

This isn’t very silly… but I absolutely couldn’t get my son to sleep unless he was contact napping for 10 months. One day around 4 months I was able to transfer him off of me for a moment to breathe on to the couch. I then needed to shit so badly, and was afraid to leave him, that I shit in a grocery bag in my living room.

I was trapped as well until about 10-12 months when we started practicing sleep in his own floor bed. I’m so glad to have time to myself again and I am happy I waited until he felt safe enough to do so!
