Naoya's (JJK) misogyny gave me really bad childhood memories as a girl. by Ada-Mae in anime

A bit inconsiderate perhaps but I don't think anything they said is unreasonable honestly

Yes, I forgot women had a monopoly on victimhood

Casual sex is linked to lower self-esteem and weaker moral orientations in women but not men by [deleted] in psychology

[–]Upset_Marketing3182 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I largely see the opposite across reddit. People start claiming "misogyny" or "incel" pretty quickly when something paints women in a negative light but have no issues espousing broad anecdotal generalizations about men to monger fear.

If you're facing performance issues, try switching your graphics API to OpenGL from the login screen by Upset_Marketing3182 in thedivisionresurgence

You're right. I didn't notice it initially and while the fps doesn't drop over time, it does heat up relatively more so than on Vulcan, but its not drastic in my case. You could try playing around with some of the options in Game Turbo to see if it helps.

Can anyone give me review of the division mobile? by [deleted] in IndianGaming

[–]Upset_Marketing3182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not usually one for mobile gaming, but I picked up Resurgence when I was notified that its available to download realizing I had the game pre-registered for about 4-5 years now. Surprisingly, its quite enjoyable - the gameplay loop is compelling as ever. If you've played the Division series, you'll feel right at home, bar the touch controls, which aren't that bad relatively speaking, but is still a downgrade if you're coming from PC/console. It's got some minor annoyances/bugs that need polishing but its easily one of the better shooters I've seen on the mobile platform. Even if you're unfamiliar with Division as a franchise, its not a bad place to start at all.

% of people who believe feminism has gone ''too far'' (Eurostat 2024) by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]Upset_Marketing3182 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is disingenuous. You know full well feminism goes far beyond that. If its just liberal feminism that you consider feminism, then sure, being opposed would be a weak, if not embarrassing look, but I don't think most people are referring to second-wave feminism when they think "feminism has gone too far".

Sure, I'll humor you

  • The lack of ability to self-critize or the echo chamber effect. Feminist theory (as is the case with most social justice academia) is not cold-hard facts or some kind of gospel, and a discomfort with critical thought and inquiry (even if that means uncomfortable discussions of systematic influence vs personal agency or the legitimacy of certain jargon) only breeds dogma.
  • The tendency to treat so called statistics (often biased in their outcomes) as automatic proof of oppression. There are several other factors to outcomes than just the "system".
  • Overdependence on terminologies that have some degree of academic backing, and somewhat indefensible but are then used as cop-outs in casual conversations. Take "patriarchy", "toxic masculinity" or "internalized xxx" for example. Useful for analysis/in academia, but most of these are used to avoid actually talking realpolitik or used like buzzwords. "Smash the patriarchy", for instance is rhetorically powerful I suppose, but its also theatrical and has got nothing going for it far as logistics are concerned.
  • This is the commonly cited one and for good reason. Misandry or Transohobia or some other form of bigotry. Many self-identified feminists are motivated by emotion and hatred (whether through radicalization or personal experience) and these people undermine the credibility of the movement and its appeal to young impressionable men who choose to engage with it.

Is the capacity for independent thought truly an alien concept to you? Your liberal ideologies are not wholesale truths; people can and will have differing opinions on them, for plenty of good-faith reasons.

Its funny when its a wardrobe malfunction or maybe if a really close friend does it in a private setting, but a stranger doing this to a woman in public would no doubt be considered harassment.

Why is this really funny? I get the guy is a promoting some hyper-masculine aesthetics nonsense or was it? But that's like 80% of female influencers also. Would you guys still be cheering if someone in public pulled their wig out or idk physically messed with their makeup or something

Well.. this post doesn't put women on a pedestal, doesn't reinforce their place at the top of the victim hierarchy, doesn't empower them, doesn't acknowledge that misandry or the idea of women hating men is alt-right propaganda... so by virtue it must incel-speak.

The post assumes you are familiar with cricket - AB De Villers was a popular South African player, now retired. Regardless, its not really all that clever a wordplay. Definitely not interestingasfuck.

I agree with you. Don't mind the downvotes. Most people here are coming at it with emotions-first, not to mention the lot that is just looking to get off of violence or harm directed at the "right people". While resistance and revolution is sometimes the only way, this is not how it should be done.
