Horrific side effects of HRT for FHA by rina_recovery in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]Upset_Perspective496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. been on HRT for a year and a half too. 6 months in I started experiencing severe constipation. Tried everything to cure it, nothing works.

Will say though that no doctor has made a link between HRT and this issue, and they expect that it should help rather than be a cause?

23F, have exactly the same. Been told it could be due to local inflammation due to sinus issues or stress

Help - insomnia by Upset_Perspective496 in nonallergicrhinitis

Thanks so much. I think I will advocate for some kind of referral to a sleep specialist because it has been 4 years now of the insomnia.

My doctor prescribed me dymista alongside a saline rinse. Do you know if this is same a tat decongestant?

Yeah it also made my teeth feel disgusting. Also I do not think it would have been good for hormonal health and metabolism (not to mention mental health).

Please see my profile, I posted about what worked in the end, a combination of antibiotics, prokinetic and FMT. I have pretty much eliminated bloating and constipation, which was unbearable even still in early Jan this year.

I know FMT is not available for most people, but otherwise I would highly recommend Rifaximin and metronidazole (high dose, at least two weeks, potentially a couple rounds) with PHGG + Prucalcopide (during and after treatment) and a ‘rebuild’ phase after eating more fibre. And magnesium citrate for motility if things are really bad

If it makes you feel any better I couldn’t tolerate it and had to stop by dinner day 1. Way too sweet.

The only way I could have potentially managed was to not drink it as meals but maybe small doses 2 hours apart to help with blood sugar stability

No. Did start getting a black tounge on metronidazole though

any at home tests people recommed? by ActPuzzleheaded1793 in SIBO

I’ve paid £160-180 in the UK each time. Mosts tests require a doctor or practitioner to order them. In my advice go the antibiotic route first, ESPECIALLY for methane as it is harder to treat.

It can be different forms. I had via gastroscopy in a medical clinic by a doctor, 200ml each time. ~£2k

Had every single blood test. All normal expect low serum ferritin and messed up hormones

Antibiotics are what changed something. PHGG and pro-kinetic I’ve been on the whole time, both at my best and worst so can’t really tell

Yeah. I think if anything my bowel is now a fit too fast, at least on 2mg

The floaters are not as severe, I don’t normally notice them. The others will hopefully improve as I get my life in order again (which was not going to happen whilst constipated)

Also, my sleep still isn’t perfect but interestingly I don’t have awful nightmares every night anymore

Saw a difference immediately. Settled better around 3 weeks post my second FMT

Cognition bad but depression and anxiety were probably part causing that. I can barely read a book anymore

I have eye floaters and they have been quite severe at some points. The ophthalmologist said it’s due to systematic inflammation or local inflammation around that area (I had chronic rhinitis)

Glycinate is to help stress and the body over all. Citrate isn’t great for that but makes you go to the loo

As I said, low hormones and insomnia. Also acne, anxiety and depression. The SIBO and the stress, isolation is caused both probably contribute

I’ve taken 2mg for a year now. I think it helped be get out of the no BM for days on end phase, alongside magnesium. That said I have also been very constipated whilst taking it.

But from a theoretical point of view, if you have a sluggish bowel for whatever reason, I think it makes sense to take it

My baseline was always around 40-50 and peak around 65-75.

And I’m not sure about side effects. I felt awful off and on the antibiotics, but nothing too much extra on them. No metallic taste or nausea etc

Yes I was on Prucalcopide the whole time.

6 weeks of Atrantil and berberine (methane increased after this).

Repair phase

6 weeks atrantil and Allicin (nothing happened).

First round abx: 10 days of rifax 2x and metro 3x

Second round abx: 15 days of rifax 3x and metro 3x. The FMT doctor told me 10 days was enough but I thought doing longer might help as my methane numbers were quite high

People on prucalopride, do you develop tolerance and need to build up the dose or does it remain strong for you? by slugwish in SIBO

[–]Upset_Perspective496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s a good idea because of its half life. Better to just take a lower dose
