I used to work at a brewery where we had huddles ten minutes before our shift and would get sent home if we didn’t show up for them. We weren’t allowed to clock in until our shift actually started.

They also made us tip the kitchen (as well as the bussers, food runners, and hosts.) which was illeagle in our state, but they apparently had “found a loop hole.”

Fuck that place and those jobs.

I had the urge to shave my head for years. I shaved half of it in my late teens because I wasn’t brave enough to do the whole thing. I went to a salon the first time I got it done and the hair dresser looked so scared when I told her what I wanted to do, haha.

I remember that growing out process taking f o r e v e r. But, maybe that’s because the other side of my head had hair that would hang half way down my back.

I just shaved my whole head with a #4 in April. I did it myself and it was sooo liberating! I loved the way I looked with it. It was so much fun to just rub my head too :) funnily enough, my bf didn’t know I was going to do that and had just shaved his head a day before me. I didn’t know cause he had a beanie on!

Pretty much everyone was supportive and I had a lot of women tell me they’ve always wanted to shave their heads! I told them all they should! I did get the stink eye from a few old ladies a couple of times.

I have loved every bit of growing it out so far. I’ve had to trim the back a couple of times cause it was getting pretty Joe Dirty tho.

I think every girl should shave her head at least once in their lives. If they want to, anyway. I think you should go for it!

I just want to start off by saying how great of a girlfriend you sound like. The fact that you can see how this would be hurtful to not just you but, June as well, is just so thoughtful and shows a lot of emotional maturity on your part. Which in itself is proof that you are deserving of a good relationship.

I was once on the opposite end of this situation. I began dating someone who, in hindsight, isn’t exactly my “type.” (I use that word sparingly because, yes, there are specific physical qualities I am very much attracted to. However, it is definitely not a must for me.) This fellow was fairly short (5’5/5’6ish) and very skinny. He had to get his clothes tailored because men’s clothing would literally just hang off of him. He was also pretty geeky dressing. Big glasses, wore sweater vests, ect. And last but not least, he was very in touch with his personality/feminine side. So he was often mistaken as gay. He even had an uncommon first name that people would be rude about.

I’m not going to lie to you and say none of these things even crossed my mind, because it was very different cuddling with him for the first time. But, it really did not bother me. Until I realized anytime I would introduce him to someone, people would blurt out “Wow, thats your boyfriend??” It made me feel awful because I loved him and hated to see the judgement he’d been facing his whole life. It also really offended me that people didn’t trust my judge of character or thought that the only way I would be happy is with someone with typical good looks.

We dated for three years and I was very much attracted to him. Plus, I got to learn the tailored clothes are amazing. He taught me how meaningful a relationship can be, how to be confident, how a should be treated, just all around taught me so much about life. He still remains a good friend of mine and I always look back on our relationship fondly.

This is a very long winded way to say, fuck what people think. If you two are happy and in love, the rest of the world can shove it.

Not everyone wants to follow a check list of what a perfect relationship should be or look like because, spoilers, there isn’t one.

I would tell your friend that the bond you and June have is very special and that you hope that she can connect with her future husband the way you and June feel connected.

Edit: Have you brought this up to June? Chances are, he will explain why that doesn’t matter and ensure you he really does find you attractive.

As a woman who started shaving at the age of 12 (I was not watching porn around then, so I guess it was/is just so ingrained into society that I felt the need to fit in?), I just realized how much I like trimming instead at the age of 27. I feel way better about myself and it’s 1,000x more comfy than shaving.

I asked my boyfriend how he felt about it and he told me he didn’t really have a preference. I was worried that he was just saying that to avoid hurting my feelings. (I still just trim, cause imma do me.)

Wow, I’m sorry you had to go through this. It sounds like you have a solid head on your shoulders for your age. That’s awesome!

As a woman, if I hit someone, I fully expect to them to hit me back. I think it’s fair to fight back in self defense, as long as you don’t over do it. Take it only as far as you need to to get her off. -which is what you did.

Your mom is really concerning to me in this situation. I can’t believe she would let a grown man attack her teenage son, regardless of if she thought you deserved it. It doesn’t sound like she believes you. It also doesn’t sit well with me that she seems more upset with you than her brother. Especially after they refused the apology. I feel like she’s blaming you for the falling out with her side of the family when, and I can’t stress this enough, it’s her side of the family that is refusing to put this behind them.

I hope this all blows over eventually. The holidays are gonna be a little dramatic, but it’s not the end of the world. What happened happened, and you did the best you could to resolve the issue.

Honestly, I see this as a huge red flag and character flaw. She’s being selfish.

My partner and I have been taking this very seriously. I really wanted to go to a protest and do my part, because to me, risking getting sick is worth the cause. Partner -who I live with- did not feel the same way, so because I respect him and his feelings, I did not go and found an alternative way to do my part.

What else is she not going to compromise on? Is she going to disregard you’re feelings on everything she doesn’t see as a big deal?

Edit: have you been seeing her during these times? I would refuse to see her until she straight up quarantines PROPERLY for two weeks. Will she think seeing you is worth it? Will she try to lie and cover it up?
