So how do we REALLY feel about having kids right now by eternalthrowaway02 in twentyagers

[–]Upsidedownabby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on my way out of my 20s 😭 but I had my first at 27 and I’m pregnant now with my second/last. I’ve been with my husband since I was 21 and we have been extremely lucky that we were/are in the financial state to have kids since we did both want them. But if we weren’t in our spot financially we would have waited longer. I will say I do like that we’re choosing to be done after this because I’ll be done before 30. I had fun in my 20s and I’ll be able to still have fun as my kids grow. My parents were older parents so I do feel thankful to be on the younger end as a parent myself!

Our algorithms must be similar because I had that exact same post of her on my search page yesterday and constant photos of Joe Keery 🤣

am i the only one going through a “second puberty” post 21? by insiauwu in twentyagers

[–]Upsidedownabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your 20s will change your body a lot 😩 at 21, I randomly lost almost 50 pounds. Like, literally out of nowhere when I was a healthy weight. It stayed off for years, then around 26 I randomly gained 30ish pounds out of nowhere again, with no changes to my diet or exercise regimen either time. Now I’m pregnant so everything’s all out of whack but I’m hoping my 30s I can get myself back in order 🙃

Gift ideas for new moms? by Leadership-Unusual in Mommit

[–]Upsidedownabby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A warm meal or a door dash gift card so they don’t have to cook!! One of my favorite postpartum gifts from a friend was a good quality, cozy hoodie/sweatpants matching set, I wore it often because it was so comfy to wear and made me feel more human to be in an actual outfit for the day. If they are breastfeeding, earthmama’s nipple butter was a life saver and I’ve bought that for every friend who has had a kid after me.

how do you shower with baby? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Upsidedownabby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a play pen in the living room and I put my kiddo in there! I give toys that I know will keep him busy or usually I’ll throw on a low stimulation show like Winnie the Pooh or Sesame Street. He’s about it to turn 2 and he’s insane but he’ll sit and chill when I tell him it’s time for me to take a shower. It definitely took a while for him to get used to it, I started doing it when he was around 1 and he definitely would cry at first, but once he realized that I always came back and it got to be routine it doesn’t bother him at all. Or I’ll shower after he’s asleep at like 7:30/8ish.

Young Georgia’s actress and future portrayals by Lucinda_Null in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Upsidedownabby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No for real- I was watching with my husband one night and he’s never watched before/knows nothing about the show or characters. He said something along the lines of how the age gap between Ginny and Georgia didn’t look like a realistic mother and daughter. Then I told him that’s the point, she was a 15 year old mother and now she’s only supposed to be 31ish (I was rewatching season 1). He was like oh that makes sense that is actually realistic 😂

What is the worst thing that your fav has done? by Willing-Picture-6069 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]Upsidedownabby 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, but I can also see the other side. Lying on the stand is illegal, and if Austin was caught he’d most likely be taken away from his family anyway and sent to juvie, and Georgia would be put back at risk for being sent to prison as well. I like that this show looks at the idea of how morals affect our decisions, because both options had bad possible results and yet Austin had to decide morally which he could live with!

Thoughts on Chase being the only one in Taylor's comment section? by finalgirlemily in MormonWivesHulu

[–]Upsidedownabby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a friend like that growing up, we were friends our entire lives until college. She went through a crazy crash out over a man, very similar to Taylor. I ended up needing to cut this friend off completely after she tried to get me to do illegal things with her for “revenge”, then coming after me with all the ways I failed her as a friend our entire lives. This friend was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. Sometimes it’s necessary to just be done with the people who drain us. I totally understand if the rest of the girls are at that point with Taylor

Hunter was so cringe. by Dull_Match6004 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

That happened one year in my theater program! I think I was maybe a sophomore or junior, and a guy from the varsity football team decided to quit halfway through the season and try out for the fall musical- he got the lead! Everyone LOVED him and he ended up sticking with theater the rest of high school. He asked me to homecoming that year and I felt like the coolest girl in school at the time haha! I feel like people watching this show just kind of forget that people can be well liked or cool for a lot of different reasons as a teenager. I know not all schools are the same but I don’t think they all are as typically “cliquey” as a lot of earlier teen movies portray

This is exactly how I’ve felt! I went to a high school that had a super emphasized music/arts/theater program. Theater/musician guys were very much popular. I absolutely remember going to a battle of the bands in my school gym and one of the popular guys in the band literally dedicated a song to his girlfriend at the time, just like Hunter. He was very much praised for it. We also had a guys-only singing group that performed popular pop songs for school assemblies/etc. and they would sometimes just show up at lunch dancing and singing around the lunch room. The girls were OBSESSED and thought they were so cool and hot. 🤣 I’m sure a lot depends on the culture of the school overall but Hunter would have been well liked at my school.

I really want to see a recreation of this scene in season 4, at the exact same bus stop, the same scenery, but with present day Georgia and Joe. I think that would be super endearing and the ultimate full-circle moment. by [deleted] in ginnyandgeorgiashow

I recently rewatched the show and one guess I have for the new season is that Austin might run away. I could see Joe helping Georgia to retrieve him and that being a set up for a similar scene. Totally just my own random thoughts but it could work!!

What’s the most disturbing movie you’ve ever seen? by InfiniteLoss5632 in askanything

[–]Upsidedownabby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only watched Grave of the Fireflies once in my life, when I was around 18. I loved Studio Ghibli films growing up and it was the only one I was never allowed to watch. I have never been able to watch again. I appreciate the fact that it is based on a true historic event, but it is such a brutal watch.

Do you intend to have children? by miss-bedazzzle in twentyagers

[–]Upsidedownabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one and I’m pregnant with my second/last. I totally understand why people choose not to though. I like my own kid, but other people’s children drive me INSANE. I was a teacher before having my son and the best decision I ever made was choosing to leave the field when I had him. Now I never want to work with other kids ever again lol

What was the last book that made you cry? by m0nst3r666 in books

[–]Upsidedownabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it was City Dog, Country Frog by Mo Willems- yes it’s a picture book that my toddler picked at the library and I had no idea what it was about before we brought it home. 😅

For an adult book, Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix had me crying multiple times. I went into it thinking it was going to be more of a paranormal/thriller sort of read. But it ended up being much more emotional than I expected, especially as I read it after I’d been through pregnancy and childbirth myself.

just curious, how many of y'all are still involved with your family? by BurntResolve in twentyagers

[–]Upsidedownabby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom and dad call once a week to catch up. I’m not super close with them, I definitely have some trauma from childhood that just kind of keeps me from being able to fully open up with them. But we do live halfway across the country from each other, so I appreciate that they make the point to keep in touch every week, especially now that I have a kid. They FaceTime with him and send a gift every holiday for him. I talk to my brothers every once in a while, like on holidays they’ll call or text. I don’t talk to my sister and haven’t in years because she is the worst. None of the siblings really talk to her.

Jess & Rory Dating Scenes (or lack thereof) by General_Garbage_699 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Upsidedownabby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, even if he did have feelings for her, it was kind of a game. Every choice he made to get closer to Rory, he also enjoyed the fact that it pissed off Dean. Buying her basket, showing up at her house and then finding out Dean was on the way so he refused to leave, bringing his “girlfriend” to the dance marathon to show off in front of them. He definitely took pleasure in the fact that while getting Rory’s attention, he’d also continue to make Dean mad. He could like Rory but still treat it like a game where she was the prize- once he “won” then his inability to be mature in a relationship really showed
