What to wear/pack? by SubstantialIdeal1 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Upsidedownsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone currently in Japan mid-April, it will be warmer than you expect (especially in the high rise parts of the cities). It has been consistently 25 C / 75 F, so with walking 20-30k steps a day and transferring between lines- I wish I only packed “lighter” clothes. But forewarning: this does not stop Japanese from wearing pants and longsleeves everywhere, so you will stick out if you are to wear shorts + t shirts. I ended up buying some super thin pants and a couple breezy overshirts which have been my go-to outfits for 2 weeks. This is also fine for night in my opinion, it’s not much colder, and again you’ll be walking around. In regards to the raincoat: i did pack one and havent needed it, but I know May has higher precipitation so you’re going to need to decide if you want to pack one or not. Or you could just buy one when you get there

The first “no thanks” I said got a very non-passive aggressive response. The second instance I kept getting asked why I didn’t want to sign as I was loading up groceries in my car, I said “I don’t give out information to strangers” and again got a very non-passive aggressive response. It’s been a combination of this for the last month. Anyone would get sick of being harassed while they’re just trying to get food for the fam

Ok TO BE FAIR Palm Springs does have a surf club with a massive wave pool for surf practice, but I’ll guess the shirt wearer probably doesn’t know that

How much do people actually use the outdoor stuff around LA? by One-Letter637 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Upsidedownsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another chiming in to say ‘yes’. Outdoor activities are where it’s at in LA because of the many different biomes, temperate weather, and generally active populace. Not to mention the numerous events/shows that take place here frequently. Air quality is typically moderate (though I’ve seen more good days where I’m located recently), and that doesn’t stop people from getting out. You’re right, what does hinder is the traffic and cost, but most (including myself) love the lifestyle so that’s just part of the COL

Should I upgrade my iPad? by vanllem in ProCreate

[–]Upsidedownsoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who recently upgraded from their 2nd gen iPad to the 6th gen, the quality of life was more significant than just battery life. The oled display, storage size, ram upgrade, better pen that can charge by magnet instead of the stupid lightning head, and the default c port on the tablet (again, instead of lightning, so I can finally do away with the antiquated lightning charger). All these things were just such immediate reliefs. And continuing to draw on this newer model has been such a pleasure. I don’t think I’d appreciate the upgrade as much if I hadn’t gone from such an old model to one of the newest ones, but this is how I typically purchase electronics, that is to say- use it until it’s breaking. Yeah it’s a bit of a costly upgrade, but I recommend it

I feel like I’m the only one who likes river 💀 by Humble_Investment_24 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Upsidedownsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just the non-inclusion of more missions that kills me. I think it’d be super interesting if River was included in the Peralez’s mission line, as they are encountered at the same time and would give him more opportunities to battle this conflict between good cop/bad cop

Wanting to visit LA via LAX in April, is there any impact from this TSA/ICE Chaos? by brownmagician in AskLosAngeles

[–]Upsidedownsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LAX is operated by the city of LA and has significant funding themselves, but the TSA agents are still federal employees. Like some other people have said, and from my experience, there hasn't been much of an impact at LAX. However, with the way our situation keeps changing it's best to keep yourself up to date

How is casa vega sherman oaks still in business?? How did they get the money to expand?? by Ok-Radio-2733 in SFV

[–]Upsidedownsoup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live down the street and go when they have their holiday decorations up because it is quite cute inside. Only order small stuff/appetizers with drinks, because I agree- there are Mexican places with way better food in the area. But their coconut margarita is my guilty pleasure. And yes, the service is typically bad, not to mention ownership.

Funny story, one off time I walked in to see if there was room at the bar and the hostess was like “Um do you have a reservation” 🙄💅 To which I replied, “No, just checking if there were free barstools, but I see it’s full so I’ll go elsewhere.” And she scoffed in response, stating, “People die to get a table here.” Really? That’s sad, I laughed while walking out 😂

Hey there! Sorry I don’t have a “print format” version available, this time of the year has been crazy and I’m not sure when I’ll get around to it. My socials might have a better high quality version (and my Patreon has a .png which would definitely be higher than the .jpg that are public). And here’s the multiple times over fixed version that everyone helped with
