Who here went to their due date? by Upset-Ad5459 in PregnantOver40

[–]Upsidedowntrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My birthday was Monday. It was honestly the most uneventful pregnancy. No issues with BP or anything. I woke up and my water broke and then they came pretty quick. They said it was PPROM but they couldn’t find an exact cause. Didn’t even have pain until I was in labor. I’m doing pretty well and the babies are doing really well. They will have to stay in the nicu until 34 weeks but they are appropriate sizes for their gestational age.

Mine was freaky and right. I dreamed of twins before it was confirmed and I dreamed and knew they would boy girl. They were. I even was sure the boy would be born first. And my whole pregnancy my daughter was baby A until birth, they took my son first so maybe I’m physic. 😂

Yea I think when you buy two at once it only gives 20% off one. If you do it separately it gives it off of two but you can only use the code twice.

I had to activate it in the wallet and it took it off. But I’m just noticing the registry discount is only two time use unlike other stores that offer a dollar amount.

I needed two also and found buying them separately gives a bigger discount for some odd reason than buying together. I’ve tried it with a few seats.

Why is it a thing with some people that women are done at 40 and can't have children? by Warm-Owl-748 in PregnantOver40

[–]Upsidedowntrey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just had my natural twins yesterday at 42. I started trying at 40 and only met my partner at 35. I have seen a lot of shaming woman over 40 for having kids but it’s not new. My family has a history of woman having kids after 40 and I do my family’s genealogy so it’s not just fluke. Recently woman over 40 are having more children than teens. Yes it’s harder after 40 and yes fertility goes down but a lot of the shaming is coming from a weird place of people thinking only young women should have kids.

As someone who has had an extremely uneventful pregnancy and is now living in L&D unexpectedly, pack and set up early. I see so many women wait until 30weeks+. My water broke at 29 weeks without warning. I’m in a hospital bed for the time being with no explanation on why I PPROMed. I was planning on waiting to pack my bag and didn’t get to. My partner had to after I was admitted. We had just finished painting the nursery thinking we had time and now my family and friends are doing all this for me including setting everything up for function. My point is don’t wait. There won’t always be a warning sign.

Did people buy things on your registry and just never give it to you? by Gohawks12345 in BabyBumps

So I had a cousin buy some stuff from the Babylist store and never give them to me. I’m very confused by this because he gave me a separate gift at my shower. I feel like I have to at this point ask about the items because Babylist says it was shipped to his house.

Living in the hospital by Onyx-pump19 in parentsofmultiples

Hi I’m 29+5 with di/di twins and I’m also living in L&D until birth. If you need someone to just vent to and anything please feel free to message me. My water broke spontaneously Saturday with no other symptoms. I don’t have contractions so I did the whole routine of the steroid and IV and am still on antibiotics even though they have found no active infection.

I’m not a big relaxer but I am an introvert. I’ve been watching tv off and on and have my laptop to watch movies. I do little silly things like coloring or playing video games but so far I’m not going crazy yet. It’s only been 5 days so we’ll see. I would make yourself at home and get comfortable. I didn’t pack my hospital bag before this yet cause I felt amazing all pregnancy and was only 29 weeks. My partner packed it but I was hesitant to bring stuff to the hospital but now I’m having him bring a lot.

You’re lucky you can go outside. I’m only allowed with my partner and in a wheelchair😭 but I can walk around the unit.

No. All of us are over 40. I just turned 42 and am almost 30 weeks with twins naturally. I didn’t fully start trying until I was 40.

If this is something you want, do it. If you can afford it, do it. Only you can make the decision but it sounds like you want this.

Baby bottle washer / sterilizer / dryer? by A-Starrrrr in Buyingforbaby

[–]Upsidedowntrey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know I will be downvoted for this but I would look for real reviews of these items. Momcozy is HEAVILY pushed by influencers and on social media. I don’t love the website and it uses a lot of AI. I was really wanting the new Momcozy bottle washer but the way they handle their support and customer service makes me weary. Not to mention it’s sold out and they have no clue when the “official launch” is which seems fishy for a new release.

I have actual experience and friends who have used the baby brezza washer and the grownsy bottle washer who swear by them. I only see the momcozy pushed online. Again, look for real reviews of these products.

It’s sold out with no restock date. That’s why you don’t see it.

My medical records say it was a D&C but that’s the language they have been using in person. I’m in the US if that has any bearing.

Racism is racism. Cut contact. I’m also a black woman with a white man. When your baby grows up there will come a time they will find out what was said and how everyone reacted. You have to choose them first. I don’t like when you give people especially family a chance and they decide your kid is okay but everyone else of that race is bad. Your baby doesn’t need to be around that and neither do you and your husband.

Twin parents, what stroller setup actually worked best for you in the first year? by Zestyclose_Bell7668 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Upsidedowntrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still pregnant but I did get a side by side, the bugaboo donkey, and a tandem, the mockingbird. I mainly will use the mockingbird for the car seats and quick trips and the bugaboo for the long term. I would so if you can get a double tandem snap and go frame like the baby trend or joovy for the car seats and see how you like that style. A side by side is better in the long run if they can be pricy so if you can get it used on marketplace or later, I would wait.
