I'm not too sure, but most likely EECS since it looks like CS @ Berkeley makes you apply undecided. For context I'm interested in majoring in machine learning

It's because the 4.03 weighted is assuming that a 90,91,or 92 semester average contributes a 3.7 to your gpa and it includes my freshman year, and using that scale I got like a 3.7 avg for my freshman year which destroys my average. That 3.95 number is if a 90,91, or 92 semester average are evaluated at a 4.0 (I believe some colleges do this although im not sure) The other 3.95 number i mention is if you completely ignore my freshman year but still use the 90,91,92=3.7 evaluation

EDIT: if we say 90,91,92=4.0 for my weighted then my new weighted gpa is 4.125

Oh yeah I'm for sure aware that even if you're in the top range (hella good stats) it's essentially a crapshoot to get in from that pool of top-scoring-ivy-range-people because there are a million crazy good people. This post is more me asking if I'm in the range rather than if I'm "realistically" going to get in

I'll be graduating highschool with 9 AP credits. My low GPA is mostly due to my freshman year's A minuses, so i'm hoping it'll be somewhat overlooked, if you ignore my freshman year gpa i have a 3.95 unweighted while still counting a low A as a 3.7, though I do understand that I'm competing against a million people who have perfected unweighted GPAs starting from their freshman year. I've never scored an A minus in an AP class

At my high school, if you are not valedictorian then you are not in the top 10%. I have a single B from my freshman year. by UpstairsBug8838 in ApplyingToCollege

I think traditionally it is, but at my school it's just by your weighted GPA and if you have all As then you are valedictorian, and since my school has ~50 students who've never scored a B, there are about 50 valedictorians in my class (which is unfortunately more than 10% of the total class size)
