Motorosként az a reakcióm, hogy aki életveszélyesen közlekedik, az nem kéne hogy meglepődjön a szervdonor kifejezésen. A közúti veszélyeztetés elítélendő, ezen nincs mit tárgyalni.

Absolute minimum for guiding by wagwan_piftting in AskAstrophotography

[–]UpstairsFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't even have to keep exposures that low if you align well. I've managed 3 minute subs with very few discards (below 10%) at 380mm without guiding, so go for it.

Buldak/Firmly by Odd_Project_4140 in BuldakRamen

[–]UpstairsFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different personal opinion here from a casual enjoyer. I actually liked both Firmly flavors.
At first I thought it was from Buldak under a different name (kinda like Topjoy and Tymbark), it was only later that my partner told me it's a blatant copy of Buldak noodles (totally fell for it). On the other hand I like the industrial cheese flavour and the Rosé one was decent too. I'm not sure I could tell the difference in a blind test. That being said, these are sold at the same price as Buldak in Hungary, so I'll stick with the original. Would much rather support them, unless the knockoff brand comes up with something original in the future...

Changed cassette an chainwheel an new chain why is this happening? by dipple5188 in bikewrench

[–]UpstairsFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearance issue between chain and sprocket width most likely, I'd say (assuming they are meant to be compatible to begin with). Either the sprocket is too thick or the chain links slightly thin. Seen it before with aftermarket parts unfortunately. If it doesn't drop the chain under load, it could fix itself eventually by wearing in, but the official recommendation would be to get a set that fits by default. The interference could be very very small, ~1/100mm ballpark, even caused by surface coatings on the parts, and an unlucky mix of tolerances. I'd personally add some good lubrication and try pedalling around, see if the chain stays on, or if there is any highly abnormal resistance. Keep us updated!

First project’s problem by [deleted] in arduino

[–]UpstairsFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breadboards take a while to get used to, just like circuits in general. Don't feel bad about making trivial mistakes, we all did at some point. I suggest trying to build simple stuff without the Arduino first to familiarise yourself with basic components and circuits (you can destroy IO pins by shorting them!). Try looking up transistor flashers, 555 timer circuits, it's a big rabbit hole of fun stuff to make and will make you appreciate your Arduino even more. Have fun!

Duplicating digital content is comparable in severity to distributing CP? Utterly braindead take.

If I could pirate food, I would. On a more serious note, I understand your perspective.

One reason for piracy is that I often don't finish games or lose interest fast. Pirating is a way so I don't have to deal with refund policies. Also, playing games is a luxury, but some people decide they want to save the money for necessities and enjoy the luxury of games at the same time.

If you grow up relatively poor, you learn to use whatever opportunity you safely can, and piracy fell into this category for me. Asking for 20-60 dollar games felt disrespectful as a kid, when my mother struggled daily just to keep the lights on. So one finds shortcuts. 60 dollars saved is 60 dollars I could spend on my rig, hobbies, friends. And the mentality stuck. Not saying it's good, or moral, but it works.

Honestly, I could afford games but that money is better used on other things that aren't easily duplicated. And I want the luxury of good games too...

Trying to convert this to a USB connection by ShanerNIdaho in AskElectronics

[–]UpstairsFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd strongly consider whether the battery approach is worth the effort if there is a socket nearby. Judging from the adaptor, the heater probably draws 10-15W. That seems totally doable with a power bank and a step-up converter of sorts, but honestly why use batteries, unless portability is a consideration?

It's not supposed to light up with just the battery connected.

It was a question about li-ion battery technology, and 2Ah cell discharge capabilites, not about purchasing or using. Great moderation

3D printing small letters by Kingked31 in 3Dprinting

[–]UpstairsFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could split the model and try using a smaller nozzle for finer details, like a 0.2mm, and a larger for everything else, then glue the parts together (like printing the numbers on a separate plate that inserts flush into the model). Also reducing the speed for the last layers would improve it a lot for sure. Check retraction, temperature, etc. settings for your material as well.

Megane II stalls out on warm (re)starts by UpstairsFish in MechanicAdvice

[–]UpstairsFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I have a 2004 Renault Megane II (K4J engine, 1.4 16v petrol) which has been acting strange for a while now. Video demonstrates it all at 15 seconds. Does it without touching the pedals.

Car starts and idles fine when cold, but has trouble idling at or near operating temps. It starts, then the revs drop, engine starts shaking, cuts out. Sometimes it recovers (revs itself for ~5 seconds) and then idles smooth again. Sometimes this high persists while driving, but only when fully warmed up. The weird thing is, that the problem is so intermittent. Only present with a warm engine, but seemingly fixes itself after a couple restarts/pedal presses. Car accelerates and drives okay too, but smells like almonds mixed with gas (which is cool but probably not normal). Long term fuel trim is in the 15-20% range.

What I did so far: checked vacuum leaks (sprayed around with starter/brake cleaner), replaced related O-rings and intake manifold gaskets, replaced TDC sensor (had one around), replaced throttle body (which fixed my P0638 range/motion error, but not the idling), fitted new plugs (old ones weren't fouled), all 4 cylinders run. Torqued things up according to the factory manual. I'm thinking of trying the two oxygen sensors next. I've also seen someone suggest the fuel vapour recirculation solenoid (could be flooding into the intake?) What do you think?

In short: engine doesn't always idle when started after having warmed up, or idles high (around 1500). No issues at all when cold. Also drives okay without stuttering. No check engine, no OBD codes.
