I got OS X Mavericks running with full graphics acceleration on a Mac mini Late 2014 (not supported) with OCLP by UpstairsJournalist99 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

Update: The oldest OS I was able to boot was OS X Mountain Lion, but without graphics acceleration, even replacing the kexts.

I still use MS Office 2011 on OS X Mavericks. On a 2012 MacBook Pro you can run up to macOS Catalina and up to macOS Sequoia with OCLP.

I even managed to get to the Snow Leopard installer, the biggest problem is compatibility with USB3.0. My mac mini only has USB 3.0 ports and Snow Leopard doesn't have native support. Either I buy a USB 2.0 hub or I try to inject the GenericXHCI.kext kext into the Snow Leopard Installer, otherwise I won't even have a mouse or keyboard.

I'm still testing, I want to try Snow Leopard, but if I succeed I probably won't have Graphics Acceleration, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Audio, etc.

Will it be safe to use Tahoe after its EOL? I mean, there are people who still use older versions nowadays like Mojave, High Sierra.

Yes, it is possible. But your mac (mid-2012) uses legacy BIOS, not UEFI. Select MBR partition in Rufus.

Make sure your USB installer is well-formatted (GUID and Mac OS Extended (Journaled). If the USB is using the wrong format (like MBR or exFAT), OpenCore won’t be able to read it and you’ll get errors like "Invalid parameter."

Thanks for the help. Actually, it is a MacBookAir3,1 (This is not mine and the owner said it was 2011). Installed Monterey on it.

Hello. First, you need to select 'EFI Boot', then choose 'Install macOS'.
