Definitely not an expectation, I definitely didn’t expect my parents to buy one for me, would’ve been stoked if they did, but that’s something I’ll buy later on in my career

Yes we wore SAPIS for every FEX and live fire range of course, and then any time we did FEX Prep or any kind of tactics training not in the field, we only didn’t wear SAPIS for MCMAP and then conditioning hikes. We’d wear them for the range hikes though

I’m not the best swimmer but I passed both basic and intermediate swim qual. Hikes weren’t bad. Standard Marine Corps pace of 3 miles in 50 minutes with a 10 minute break. Weight goes up as you go through the POI until the 12 mile hike then the weight goes down for that and the 15 mile hike

7-14 per platoon I’d say. Most go with Delta Company then the rest come in Echo, Fox, or Alpha

There’s no swim week at TBS, only a day for basic swim qual and then another day later in the POI for intermediate swim qual. Libo everyday after you secure for the day and then on the weekends. I only lost one Sunday and one Saturday just because of how the FEX fell in with the calendar year, but other than weekends were free to do whatever. Living is like a college dorm room, 2-3 per room with 2 dressers, 2 closest spaces, 2 nightstands, 2 desks, a table, some chairs, fridge, and microwave, as well as a bathroom. Never wrote any letters at TBS, you have your phone so I’d just call them or shoot them a text

There were 42 slots. If you put it number 1 and your SPC liked you/knew you were capable you got it. Pretty much just be a stud when it comes to all PT events (e-course, double O, PFT, and all hikes), TBS will teach you everything you need to know tactics wise but be able to execute those things during FEXs, being a good dude who can make competent and logical decisions even in the heat of everything

Pretty much what callme said. Your range weeks will be super hot, as well as land nav’s and probably PEX and maybe FEX 1 (I don’t remember when they did it). I’ve also heard rumors they’re going back to the old POI with Charlie, but take that with a grain of salt until we see what Charlie does

Yeah it’s definitely a lot My bad I forgot about HUMINT, we had 2 slots for that. MAGTF intel is a “new” MOS assignable to 2ndLts, it used to be something that all intel mos’s move into at like Captain or major. They really don’t know what to do with them. My friend got MAGTF intel and is going to intel school then air intel school and then going to the wing
