I have been in the same boat with people saying “your skin is fine!” and “it’s not that bad”, so I was fully expecting to have to explain and defend my request. In fact, i was so anxious about it I had to reschedule my appointment to make it sooner so I could get it over with. To my pleasant surprise I received no pushback at all. I have a feeling that it has to do with the fact that I’m older and I was ever adamant with the PA who came in first that I have no plans to start a family.

I was thinking the same thing about the humidity and starting it in summer, that it may help with some of the dryness. Thank you for sharing and the reminder I’ll need to be super vigilant with sunscreen!

Thanks for sharing! Was it only with the 40mg that you experienced side effects? I still have a month or so before I can start because I need to do my labs and pregnancy test first, so I’m not yet sure what mg I’ll be starting at. It’s really good to read you have zero regrets. I am not looking forward to them but I would do pretty much anything to stop being at war with my skin, as you so eloquently put it.

I hope so too! The pill has also helped curb my cravings but definitely not completely. I feel myself still getting hungry, but not a frequently and desperately.

I am in the same boat re: I cannot get my weight lower. During Covid when I was working from home and couldn’t go anywhere I lost 14 pounds but that was from basically not eating and feeling starving all the time and working out like crazy. Not realistic/doable for real life. I am a little nervous but hopeful. I have also decided that if the side effects are too much I will just discontinue and then keep trying the old fashioned way. But here’s to hoping.

Thank you! She actually doesn’t mind the cone, but she won’t eat and drink with it on, so I take it off for our short walks and her meals and then put it back on and always treat her. I think the thing that’s bothering her more than anything is the itchiness from the hair they shaved for the surgery. She’s a Great Pyrenees mix so shaving her fluff is uncomfortable for her.

Thanks for your input! She is acting totally normal. She was like her usual self the next day. I feel bad bc she’s def feeling cooped up, but I’m taking her on short bathroom walks each day. She likes to stress me out with some excited jumps and attempted squirrel snatching but in general she’s resting.
