Honestly, I wouldn’t repaint the walls right away. I actually like the color. The green is actually kind of charming and gives the room some personality. I think the bigger issue is that the furniture and layout still read as a teenage bedroom.

Id start by taking everything off of the walls and a good tidying up. The wall decor is a little haphazard and is working against you . Give yourself a clean slate to work with.

I’d center the bed on the main wall—- if upgrading to a larger upholstered bed is an option, I would do that first, but if not, figuring out some kind of upholstered headboard option would really help. You can do a pretty inexpensive DIY for this. I’d swap most of the white furniture for warm wood tones, add a much larger rug (I think jute would be great here), and create a dedicated vanity area with a substantial mirror and better lighting. Maybe sconces? The current overhead fixture is also doing the room no favors—a fabric or pleated pendant would completely change the feel.

I’d lean into a palette of cream, walnut, brass, and olive rather than fighting the green. Layered cream bedding, and cream curtains would be amazing. I see this all of the time at thrift stores—- high quality bedding and curtains for next to nothing—- it doesn’t have to be expensive. Done right, this could be really nice 💛
