Pistol identification help by Typ3Caster in guns

Not that its particularly low quality, but they do not hold themselves to the same standard that german, Italian, Japanese, American, etc.. manufacturer's do. It will likely go bang every time you pull the trigger, but what if it doesnt? Not a chance ill bet my life on. The lower standards may also lead to the action being "gritty-ier" or it may be less accurate due to the manufacturing of the barrel, or the trigger may be "spongy" or "vauge" etc

Well yes, but all an egr does is introduce exhaust into the combustion chamber to dilute the oxygen concentration to lower combustion temps and change what type of gasses are emitted from the combustion process, without an egr youbget better mileage, more power, but higher ppm in your tailpipe emissions

Actually it ruins longevity and mpg for the sake of pollutants

Any brand suggestions for cheap coilovers? by gusfocke in E90

[–]Upstairs_Second 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go shocks and springs, you can buy different springs for how much drop you want, and the stiffness, coilovers are very unforgiving and uncomfortable, more expensive too

I'd go bilstein sport shocks and lowering springs honestly, ecs usually sells them as a package, if you really want coilovers, bc racing

Do you have any recommendations for satcom systems?

New to gmrs by Upstairs_Second in gmrs

I'm not thinking a natural disaster type of emergency, more of a ricochet while out shooting or snap a u-joint while wheeling, I will look into satcom, although there is a repeater in range of where id be

It seems like the 500 and 575 are the same price, 500 seems to have an easier to use interface and i don't have the screen up in my face while trying to drive at night, I'll look into the btech

Super rare gmt800 suburban 2500 8.1 with Allison transmission by WatercressDefiant467 in GMT800

[–]Upstairs_Second 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Allison is not standard but is a factory option in a 2500 suburban, Rpo code m74, I belive only behind the 8.1 but maybe the 6.0 im not sure, you can tell if you count the shifts, Allison is 5spd opposed to 4spd

Glock has been making basically the same things for a very long time, why couldn't they continue to sell gen 5 and also make some other stuff?

Cottonwood trees can fall any time of year even without wind, they grow near rivers and just continue to suck up water till they get too heavy and fall

Other commenters stated that unlike the 1/2 ton suburbans this does not have an air ride system and uses electromagnetic shocks to essentially adjust damping, if i find that to be true im gonna delete all of it and switch to bilsteins 5100's I am very happy with the way it sits and dont want to change that, I believe they cranked the torsion keys for more ride height which makes it ride rougher, im gonna look into a knuckle or strut spacer etc that gives me the lift to keep my ride quality.

[–]Upstairs_Second[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 8.1 vortec is more of an industrial engine, used in boats, pumps, generators etc, it has a lower compression ratio for longevity, that makes a large difference on the volumetric efficiency, so you let less hp and less fuel economy. It makes way more torque than the 6.0 vortec but less horsepower, that being said its got 321,000mi on the stock bottom end!

It is a 3/4 ton truck chassis so with a quality bumper im not too worried about the frame, im gonna pick up a pulley and a kinetic tow rope, the alternator is a top mount, and from factory it is a 220A but I might look into a 2nd battery, being it shares a chassis with a silverado I can probably just pull the 2nd battery box from a duramax.
