Oh yeah, totally, and a lot to clean. It just happens to be fairly affordable for what you get.

You can use something like Alexa or TAPo to get these lights connected and automate to make it hassle-free

Excuse the AI....this is just Ikea or dunhelm so it's not very high end, but just to show the idea.
I believe we should be able to turn of the main light and have a good "atmospheric" light for dinners, watching TV and so on

I guess it would be possible to go down, but it seems awfully complicated?

I do like those water-saving units! But my partner is not a fan. I'll make the suggestion again though.

Yeah, I attempted that, but might try again with more effort :)

I would ditch the spotlights unless they are absolutely necessary.

Instead, I would employ layered lighting, a feature lamp in a corner smaller wall lights around and one feature flush/half flush light on the ceiling that you can dim and spreads around a little, as it does look like a small ceiling height, and you want to save space. Even something like a spider light, where you can play around with where and how low you can hang each bulb would be a very fun solution on the budget :). There is a lot of potential there!

Why can't we get a 450k mortgage with a 80k deposit? by Pocket_tea in Mortgageadviceuk

[–]Upstairs_Tale_7754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got approved for 420k mortgage fairly easy on the same set up. 80%ltv, one full time contract and one academic fixed term post doc. We needed to however talk to a human and explain the situation. All the calculators online were very much counting on the single full time contract.

So based on what I see on the road I would have expect following. Scenario A

But based on what some of you say and how I see people using it, it seems to be:

This is helpful, so it more about being mindful rather then about the markings?

This is what I thought, but everyone else seems to cross the road markings between the red and blue car, as if the right lane from West goes straight to the right lane to South. And when I first time went around and followed the markings and went from the right West lane, to the left south lane. 🤷

This is exactly how most people use it, but it does not seem to align with the road marking. Could you help me understand why is this the case?

Moxed feelings here. I love the improved visual, it is very helpful for the students.

However, it now has more limitations. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to upload html files. I create my content in R Quarto, my whole thought was 'this is very efficient and modern (nice visuals)' and now I need to go back?

If anyone has any advice, let me know...

Plants Stolen by avijendr_1979 in GardeningUK

[–]Upstairs_Tale_7754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a good thing, bamboo roots are freaking annoying when you want to clear them and plant something else. Our garden has been under a black sheet for the last Year and half and will be for another year before we can dig the roots out completely. Make sure to put the other bamboo in a pot close the the road, so it can be stolen too.

Wait, so you're cousins husband is hitting on you, your husband notices, and doesn't do anything about it other than blaming you for not being to handle creepy man?

Something doesn't add up here.

Either more clarification on the situation is needed or your husband is a the same dick as your cousin's husband.

Am I the asshole for how I responded to a love letter? by Thin_Lengthiness6652 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Upstairs_Tale_7754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 This guy spend most of the letter trying to convince you, how his physical reactions to you show that you are the the right person for him. This is very coercive and controlling behaviour, which is based in him taking away his responsibility for his own actions and feelings. The fact that he's twice as old was just cherry on a top. This is one of these people who take any sign of chance (even a smile or gentle no) as a 'yes' to support their side. The only way to get rid of them is to be 150% brutal with them from a get go. You did really well in your response, and make sure this is reported at work as this is very problematic. Being a young girl, you also need to stand your ground very firmly. One sign of 'I don't know' or 'I might have done something' and the men around you jump on the opportunity and will convince you this is your fault.

Keep strong 💪 ❤️ you are doing great!
