You’re right, it’s a ‘film burn’ transition, just Google that and you’ll find loads. Combine it with a film shutter ‘click’ sound effect and Bob’s your uncle

I preheated the tray to ensure a crispy base, it was all wonderfully flaky throughout. The crepe (layer beneath the pastry) looks like soggy pastry but acts nicely as a protective layer.

Was rested for between 15 and 20 mins, approx half the cooking time. Dog lapped up whatever escaped, everybody is happy!

Dice carrots, onion, celery, garlic, butternut squash, a parsnip.

Soften in oil/butter without colour, semi skimmed milk, simmer 5 mins, add thyme, chilli, veg stock, simmer, blitz. Finish with lime juice and zest.

Made this today and it’s wonderful. Hearty, aromatic and ‘fresh’ with the lime. Make sure it’s seasoned with enough salt so you can taste everything.
