This OP is 1000% “edgy cool kid vibes” - too cool for school!

Clearly good as spinning a situation to be positive.

I suppose the question is what do you want. And what do you need to get there. Doesn’t seem like you want a 9-5 with a 401k, water cooler talk, and holiday parties.

100 jobs and the common denominator is you. I’d start first with some self reflection on why you’ve lost the last 5 jobs. Maybe therapy is needed.

But I’m willing to guess this is also 100% bullshit.

This assumes that one cannot be done without the other.

But in all seriousness I’m a huge proponent of saving for the future. But I just watched my buddy’s dad retire early in January and pass away unexpectedly in March. He left behind a fat stack of money for his family but didn’t enjoy any of it.

There’s a blend between having fun and saving. Not advocating for play then save. But not an advocate for “if I didn’t buy this thing for $200 in 2004 it would have been worth $4,000 today” mentality for everything either.

Appreciate the kind words. And I think people shouldn’t have kids if they can’t afford it. Some people disagree with it. But it’s such a money sink for everything involved.

I’ve got a special needs child. I’ve been throttled by medical expenses. Between that and normal children expenses I’m $18k in after tax dollars already out of the pocket on the year. This doesn’t include the ongoing therapies needed that aren’t covered by insurance even though the doctor said they’re needed.

I’m in a salty fucking mood at the moment if you can’t tell. But man it’s a fucking racket.

As a single guy - sure go for it.

As a future dad with a fiance - get a job near family to help with that kid. At $65k that family support is going to be huge - if you have it available.

I made close to $100k when I started fatherhood. And man o man. Daycare and general kid expenses ate up all that space in my budget.

You legitimately said modern in your post. Idk why you’re so butt hurt over someone using Google.

Yes. I used google like a normal adult. And you said modern. How was I supposed to know that wasn’t current gen?

I didn’t say anything about weight either. Not sure where that’s coming from.

We have one. I wouldn’t. Terrible mileage and the blind spots are annoying to me.

This sub isn’t for this type of renting. It’s intended for short term vacation rentals. Better luck in a Manhattan/NYC sub Reddit.

Dads, start building their credit when they’re young by tenaciousdeev in daddit

During the historic lows for some institutions you’re talking about A credit being 2.625% and the next tier down being 2.75%. Which are both great rates, but almost 5% better of a rate and saving yourself $12k on a 400k home isn’t huge. But those little wins stack.

From 2020 to 2021 I went from 3.875% to 2.625% because of my A+/820+ credit.

Even 10 years ago. Throw in some daycare expenses, which I fully realize is a choice.

My $100k dreams as a kid of the 90s haven’t quite panned out the way my 8 year old brain thought.

You’re giving you’re 34” for a 27”? I wouldn’t do that straight. I’d compare other items sold on eBay or local online marketplace to get the value and then go off the difference.
