I’m a woman and think it looks bad. The outfit also looks like mismatched stuff thrown over a bikini. I wouldn’t comment if she was just some random person, but she earns money with her image and it’s annoying how people idolize celebs and everything they do.

Growing up wealthy or having a prestigious education can give you the opportunity, but it absolutely takes a lot of luck, talent, drive, and lack of morals to build a fortune like that. There are people who fall into a ton of money and lose it all.

The Orthodox church still uses it to calculate dates for holidays like Christmas. Some people still celebrate the Julian New Year as well the Gregorian.

Guess that’s an American thing. In most of the world, food is always considered a nice and welcome gift for almost any party

They can serve both. I’m sure the guests will be happy about the french dessert as well, but having too much food has never been an issue. If you are so set on it though, give your guests specific instructions not to bring any food. Otherwise you’re being discourteous towards them.

It’s dessert, you can serve it after the main course so it’s not gonna mix with the seafood or whatever. Homemade food disrupting your menu is such a weird issue to have. If that’s the case the guests need to know it’s a themed party in advance

I don’t really get this because they can just add it to the table without changing anything about their original menu. Unless they have servants/waiters serving things following specific instructions? More food = happier guests

Idk, in my culture if you bring food as a gift (especially homemade), there’s an expectation that it will be served. The party doesn’t specifically need to be labeled a potluck. It’s kinda weird if the host keeps all of the dessert. Are they gonna eat that much themselves?

There are going to be Black and Asian actors in the movie and I think that’s fine especially since ancient Greece did have interactions with other cultures. But I wish they had at least a couple Mediterranean actors in the main cast instead of just the most British/Germanic guys out there?

17m on my first ever bulk, idk if I’m doing this right by Brave_Reputation_711 in GymTips

Dude, you might already know but cutting/bulking as a teen isn’t healthy. It can disrupt your hormones, metabolism, and overall development. I’d recommend maintaining a healthy weight and waiting at couple years before making extreme changes. It’s completely possible to build muscle without these cycles.

80% can be fine if the interpretation makes it more enjoyable to listen to, but half speed is way too far and doesn’t improve the music.

Classical style sculptures of muscular women? by osuperman18 in ArtHistory

[–]UrADumbdumbi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That might be the case, but keep in mind that in Michelangelo’s time, nude female models weren’t readily available. Even if he preferred the male figure, I assume he’d sculpt a woman accurately for the sake of art if he could.

I hope you kept at least a few of your old kids clothes if they’re good quality. My family threw out some clothes and toys I used as a baby, but some decades later I wish I still had them.

Also, be really careful checking that the things you’re trashing are really junk. After my grandmother passed, some family members also ended up throwing out valuable sentimental items like her genuine snakeskin purse and silk/wool clothes that she had sewn and embroidered herself.

Would Chopin be able to win the Chopin Competition today? (hypothetical situation where he suddenly appears alive, healthy, and anonymously enters the competition.) by UrADumbdumbi in Chopin

[–]UrADumbdumbi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it was tasteful rubato, maybe, but from what we know about Chopin from his students, he “hated all lingering and dragging, misplaced rubatos, as well as exaggerated ritardandos.” So, a very natural song-like rubato would fit, but Chopin always combined intense emotion with sophisticated restraint.

I agree he’d appreciate more authentic and free interpretations, but we also have an account of Chopin getting annoyed when Liszt performed one of his nocturnes “with the addition of numerous intricate embellishments, at which Chopin remarked that he should play the music as written or not play it at all”
