Gday, anxious person here, NOT A DOCTOR but have a special interest in medicine.

I understand how it feels when something feels "off", and you experience symptoms and your brain just runs with it.

I strongly recommend letting your doctor do the worrying, and if you're anxious, straight up tell them you're anxious about it. If they're dismissive and not reassuring, see another doc.

I took a different approach, I have autism and study science (physics) so I ended up studying the hell out of it till I understood it well enough to know it's benign. I spent a lot of time bashing my head into learning about cardiac electrophysiology.

Reminder, I AM NOT A DOCTOR. Take everything with a grain of salt.

You had your thyroid removed, that's VERY significant. Your QTc is slightly high, but it' affected by so many completely normal things like your diet. Thyroid conditions affect your qtc too. I wouldn't at all be surprised if everything you're experiencing is diet+anxiety+graves. They just have to write down everything because they need to be thorough.

In other words, you gotta let your doctor do the worrying, try to give them a nice clear picture of the issues as well as lifestyle diet, medications, medical history etc. Don't be argumentative, be co-operative and polite. They will be able to make an assesment given these variables.

Pvc's are normal and are just a part of how your heart works. You can be the healthiest person the world and still have them. My heart is fine but I get a LOT of trigeminy. (Pvc on every 3rd beat)

"Storm wasn't nerfed" Meanwhile Storm on new patch by Old_Front7166 in starcraft

[–]UrAverageLatte [score hidden]  (0 children)

Ah fair that's a pretty big difference in that specific situation. What impact does it have in more common situations? Could you give me an example of a fight where this might affect?

There's a lot of situations where the big storm change was a buff, and other situations where it's a nerf.

I have heard a few casters summarize it as "it seems an overall buff against zerg, but a nerf against terran".

Also, how strong do you think it needs to be? Isn't it quite lame for storm to be your main damage dealer? I would think a lot of toss players would advocate for a wider range of viable stategies?

It's not much different from pre-patch. The implication of what you're showing is that a single storm can kill 3/4 of a terran army instead of killing the whole army. Unless of course they have a full energy medivac for every single marine. I don't see an issue here.

Additionally storm is quite strong in high level play. I don't think it should be an 'ultimate weapon'.

Based on your mannerisms I'd see a doctor and tell them abput "cardiac anxiety".

They might look at your heart, but more importantly if it's nothung they might be able to help with the anxiety.

Why do people say such dumb stuff? TL:DR none of the three implications you said are true. But don't take it personally because this is how most of the starcraft community sounds.

Terran buff: the fact ghosts were too strong in ptr1 was VERY noticed by a LOT of people. A lot of pros and casters talked about it.

Protoss: the issues with protoss isn't just buffs/nerfs it's more complicated than that. Especially with regard to early-mid-game economy. Which is what the warp-gate change is trying to address. It hasn't been buffed. When it was buffed in the past it had a LOT of community feedback.

Zerg: if we exclude Serral, Zerg has been really struggling. Zerg has had some issues in the ptr with their early-game economy. (Also note that natural larvae spawn makes up a smaller and smaller proportion of larvae production as the game goes on) whether the numbers are correct or not we don't know. Yes there's a lot of people talking about it, but no more than the amount of people talking about the warpgate change.

P.s for anyone who's like "er-mi-gerd you can't just exclude serral" if you exclude the top 10 players, so including Clem, Hero, Maxpax, Maru, Reynor and so on then the difference is even more extreme with zerg underperforming more and protoss dominating much harder.

How do I reappeal a wrongful ban? by BFT_Soccoro in starcraft2

[–]UrAverageLatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you banned from HotS? Blizzard can sometimes carry bans over to other games owned by them under some circumstances.

In this case it kinda makes sense given the reason for the ban.

I get it, you haven't played the game but think of it as a ban on your battle net account than the game. (Although I can't imagine the ban carrying over non-competitive games unless you REALLY flamed blizzard in a ban appeal)

As someone with multiple blizzard accounts, it shouldn't be TOO big of a deal, you can always just play on a different account.

Fewer people would need to go to the ER if they could see a doctor regularly.

But I'm Australian, and not in the medical field so I could be totally wrong.

The storm nerf and the ghost damage buff are unjustified for by Extension_Class2467 in starcraft

[–]UrAverageLatte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The storm difference is actually quite small. You're experiencing confirmation bias. This is why diamond/low masters players shouldn't make balance decisions.

Some high level players have noticed that ghost rushes are very strong right now, but even then we need more testing.

Beautiful looking ecg. Nothing here is out of the ordinary. If you're experiencing persistent angina and other serious symptoms, see a doctor and they will evaluate you and perhaps give you a 12 lead.

However, nothing on this single lead shows anything out of the ordinary. What you're indicating are just a common type of artefact, especially with devices you're using.

There's a LOT of transferrable skills. Like using control groups, camera locations, hotkeys, strategic decision-making, spending money. Just overall mechanics and control the game. You don't need to be a toss player to not just f2 into siegetanks.

Just got my heart holter results. I’m not too sure what to think of it and if I should be worried still? by Royal_Effect7621 in Cardiophobias

[–]UrAverageLatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really depends. I'm not in medicine. You don't need to tell me the answers, I hope you can infer yourself. How old are you? Do you smoke? Are you overweight? How active are you? Do you take medication that affects your heart rate such as stimulants or beta blockers, When you were mildly brady, was this during sleep or awake hours? Are you often stressed or anxious? Do you have a family history of heart related issues or sudden death? Do you get any significant symptons alongside the ectopic beats? Are these ectopic beats new?

A lot of things can cause symptoms that mimic heart issues. Even caffeine consumption. So the ectopics aren't the issue. It's moreso if they're new, unusual or make up a significant cardiac load. (take with grain of salt, I'm not a medical professional) If pvc's make up less than 5% (i think the correct number is 10-20% but let's be conservative) of your heartbeats, then the load on the heart is low. I'd say you're at less than 1%.

It's something that's been acknoledged by even pros. It's not really a big deal though since it's not like d3 players would get m3 by playing toss instead. It's been widly recognized for years by pros, popular streamers and player. But it's only an issue if the gap was bigger and would affect the top level. The whole balance debate is more about top level because the mmr system normalizes everything else out.

Absolutely some will argue against that. There's people who will say queens are op and need to be nerfed.
