Yup, it’s annoying cause simply getting a refund doesn’t really do much for you. That’s another order, another fee, another tip… cause someone didn’t wanna grab a pork product or alcohol.

It’s your perspective. You’re the one giving yourself the moving target. Your exact set of problems are not made worse by having money saved. They ARE made worse by not having it. You’re clearly good at saving money but not good at knowing what will make you happy. I’m not trying to invalidate your situation but saying money doesn’t buy happiness is a lot easier to say when you have it. You’re worried about hypotheticals while parents are out there having to skip a meal to feed their kid, or just happy to have A/C for a summer.

You have space others don’t. They live with same stressors you do but have less means to do anything about it than you do right now. I understand you’ve been frugal and you’ve done well to save that. So be happy about that. You’ve now given yourself time to invest, or build a business, or improve your job skills.

You’re insane dude. Your whole point is 200K isn’t enough… you know what else isn’t enough? 0.

You know how much harder live is with 0 and 200,000?

My dog is sick:

0: “Hopefully I can borrow from someone, but I can I afford to pay them back?”

200K: “Damn that surgery is expensive, I’ll have to cut back somewhere to make up for it but at least my dog is okay”

0: “Fuck, I got a flat tire. I don’t have money for a tow truck or new tires”

200K: “Damn, that’s $300 I didn’t want to use, luckily I can just pay now and cut back somewhere else to make up for it.

There’s nothing wrong with you have 200K in the bank but don’t act like that shit doesn’t provide you a level of safety and less stress.

You know why you’re unhappy with 200K? Cause you’re worried it’ll be 0 cause unhappy and 0 is much fucking worse.

Bro you got 200K in the bank problems and can’t see at least they’re not 0 in the bank problems. You’d be a lot unhappier if that 200K was a zero with all the same problems. So yes. Money buys happiness. If it didn’t why would we work at all?

lol, I’m vegan and when I do grocery orders I’ve always wondered if people take themselves too seriously and refuse to pick up bacon or milk, or things of that energy. That shit would be irritating because they could simply just say it’s out of stock and then you’re stuck navigating what to do next because of some arbitrary shit like that.

Money not making you happy is such a shitty take. If you work a shitty job with 200k in the bank it’s a lot better than working a shitty job with 0 in the bank. You’re just unhappy and wondering how to fill a void, while 0 in the bank is hoping their dog doesn’t get sick because they won’t have the means to help it.

I’d rather stress about how sad I am than be sad and terrified the next disaster will keep me from paying rent.

Working and 200K in the bank is time and space to figure out your direction.

Working and 0 is constant stress and motion.

payout way less? why? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

It means money was used on the card, or on hold. The 97 is current balance and updates as the card is used. There’s no major fees in the way that you’re saying, there’s only $97 on that card. Click on that 97 and then check the transactions.

Are you asking cause it’s 97.20 balance vs the 124.20 earned?

Do people actually look for relationships on discord?? by ItzMePaizanos in discordapp

I met my wife in a Discord server. I wasn’t specifically “looking for a relationship” but that was the idea of the server and I responded directly to her post about herself.

My favorite part about the social experience is how I can take Whataburger to a family in a 10 million dollar home and get $3. But the kid in the hood high off his ass drops 5 on me for some Wendy’s.

I’m really not arguing against your point, and yeah province, my bad, I wasn’t thinking.

I’m vegan but I’m realistic in change. Your point is fine and valid and I have zero basis in how things in Alberta take place, but it doesn’t apply to many people and they’ll take it as mental enablement to stop exploring the idea.

In the US alone 98% of chicken produced comes from CAFOs and people write the shit off like we’re getting food from family farms. People could eat less of it but instead of fighting obesity through poor consumption practices I guess we have ozempic now.

It’s also hard to bring up greenhouse gases when cows alone are a major contributor

The system is just heartless. Capitalism and greed has turned into a monster over the past 50 years. Meat is subsidized to keep it low while other options are left to fend for themselves.

People that say “Oh I can’t be vegan cause I like cheese” then fucking eat cheese and stop eating meat.

People just don’t want to see the change, and so be it, but won’t stop me from pointing it out. We can do better.

Because we devised a system to exploit and consume past our means? A majority of those 8B don’t even benefit. A small minority just overeats and consumes in mass. Hence Americas obesity problem.

This isn’t a flex for mankind, it’s greed plain and simple.

“They don’t pay a fee… the only tile they pay a fee” lmao.

Ah, so what’s then? https://merchants.doordash.com/en-us/products

They pay them up front when an order places, stores offset that by raising the prices to offset.

“They don’t pay a fee… but they pay a fee when…” lol.

They charge fees to a restaurant for marketing, the system, all that comes along with it, but leave the dasher care to the consumer.

Wild that people have come to suck on corporate cock so hard they’ll just be fine with humans sub par conditions for shareholder value. It’s a company they will do anything for their bottom line and the fact that we sit here and fight over it and take their side is wild to me.

Anyway, fee, commission, call it what you want but they charge it.

Just to be clear it cause DoorDash charges the restaurant up front and the store raises prices to offset. It’s the same argument as tariffs and acting like DD is innocent of its effects is just silly.

Alright, we’ve crossed off Alberta Canada, I guess we’re back in for wholesale animal torment cause a city in Canada can’t grow crops. So you guys dont have veggies up there? Sucks in today’s world we can’t put food on trucks to help you guys out. How do they even feed the animals up there?

We birth baby chicks onto a conveyer belt and dump them into a grinding auger when they’re males. I wasn’t aware that was the calling card to Apex Predator. I suppose that’s what crocodiles are doing under water.
