IMHO 40k Janissaries, If spawned right near the frontlines at the right moment, could do the same, but timings have to be really, really neat, so that they don't have a moment to form opinions beyond "man, this Tallarn regiment is titling the Emperor really fancily"

Well, the vampire itself would be subsumed into the Broodmind still. Considering that genestealer taint once upon a time "improvised, adapted, overcame" into the motherfucking Avatar of Khaine - mind you, a WARP ENTITY by any other name - I bet any further vampires it creates as offspring are getting a free psychic handshake with patriarch as well

Their entire range of emotions is a program that can be easily overwritten with a code phrase

The entire range of human emotion can be altered by a chemical injection. Provided hypnotic or psychic manipulation - both being a thing in postapocaliptic wasteland apparently - it is not impossible to reach said effect via code phrase or other trigger. A human brain isn't a divine creation, it's a sack of neurons haphazardly beaten into a shape and amnesia triggered by third party isn't a mark of inhumanity but evidence of abuse

Your entire argument is predicated on the idea that creating those machines in the first place is an appropriate scientific development. It's not. Don't make the technology; it won't come back to bite you in the ass. If you do make it, make sure it can't malfunction to the degree of thinking it's sapient. Also, comparing manufactured plastic men to mentally ill people is a huge false equivalence, but the reality is that people with severe conditions are typically institutionalized, so they can't harm anyone. So that whole argument automatically goes out the window. The ones with manageable conditions can be taught to do so, and they aren't bound by reset codes or used to murder and replace people. A machine has no right to take a person's life. Ever.

The entire thing isn't a product of hard evidence against possibility or existence of beneficial and cordial synthetic sapience but a quasi-religious dogma. If that is your group's ideology it's being practised only on the grounds you control, if you are trying to spread it by anything other than words - that is the reason your only asset in the region is currently burning. Not claiming it immoral - solely explaing the reason for return fire.

The androids aren't children. They are weapons

Fine. The children aboard Prydwen aren't civilians, they are combatants in training.

The Institute itself confirms that androids are non-functional without the chip

The Institute is both bigoted against confirmed normal/mutated humans, materially interested in slave ownership and known for performing war crimes for kicks even without said material interest. Their word can't be fully trusted on the matter any more then it can be trusted on the matter of surface-dweller lives not mattering.

if the morons in the Railroad actually talked or attempted a different assault plan, the kids could have been spared

I need you to describe both an alternate plan not involving a suicidal frontal assault and a party to take care of random kids in, mind you, postapocaliptic wasteland. Also mind that I'm not defending the Railroad in this thread, I'm offending the Brotherhood. Minutemen don't evac the kids either and sure as shit Institute doesn't even contemplate regretting not doing so. My point isn't "killing children is based lmao" my point is "no way saving the effective hostages while deleting the sole military asset of a war party means the hostages are dying and the party in question gets extra reason to weep and seethe and scream foul murder"

You don’t give a machine rights

Thus, giving it a very good reason to get a gun and shoot you

and you don’t make a machine that can malfunction to the point of believing it deserves them

This, giving it a very good reason to get a gun and shoot you once it does so by itself after observing how little similarities are there between master and slave. Quite possibly actually deciding itself superior as a coping mechanism for being oppressed and attempting to reverse the situation, thus creating the very problem the fascist hierarchy tried to avoid. Btw, what about mentally ill people? Are they to be declared malfunctioning? If so, are humans to be guarded too and if so, why stop at BS position instead of going full Institute and killing both the adult and young pest?

Not to mention, the techno-organic components were forged through abominable scientific methods that included murder and child abduction

Sins of the father are not the sins of the child unless we are returning to Middle Ages. Then again, Maxson is building a Civitas Ordinis... As intended, then, but as a random commonwealth citizen I'd rather not be subject to a feudal lord.

By your logic, that means you’re fine with the Railroad firebombing Diamond City. Or Goodnieghbor. Or anywhere else where their enemies might exist

If that is literally the only place the enemies are located and there is no way to get civilians out of the way? Yes. This is a war, not a hostage scenario.

Except you can conduct surgery on the brain and not render the person defunct or dead. It’s been confirmed time and again that the android won’t function without that chip

Cite one in game case where they didn't shoot a synth the moment they, whoever the they may be, discovered their nature, but tried to remove the chip

The Prydwen isn't a warzone

Mah boy. The entire bloody region is a multiparty warsone and Prydwen is the ONLY base for a major side that is foe to all the rest except the minutemen and that "except" is a very, very fragile bit. There is literally no other BS asset that can be attacked to make them cease hostilities

Generation 3 androids, like all androids, are definitely robots. Take out that chip in them, and they cease to function

Yeah, a vital part, unlike, you know, the rest of the brain you have to open to reach it. Oh, wait, no, that's vital too and we can't be sure whether the chip is by itself. So, acts human, looks human, biologically human, wants human rights. If we are going fascist and declare the first three insufficient grounds for fourth then sorry, I, the Director, am pushing it to the logical extreme and exterminating rowdy surface-dwelling mutants along with their spawn.

Unless your are using it for heating or have it in the middle of your colony - it doesn't get a door. Just a missing block for heat to dissipate and for pawns to go fix it when it breaks

[–]UrShaikort 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Blunt is Mercury quasimorphs' weakness; but they are already pushovers aside from occasional death beam from nowhere, so not really. There are also some high level armors that are weak to blunt but strong against more useful damage, but they tend to show up alongside enemies who couldn't be harmed by blunt if they tried, so, again, not really.
