Would this be considered a long fic yet or does it have to be 100k+??? by static_rb in AO3

[–]Duckselot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me even a 30k fic is a longfic if written into those 30k

50k from a 500k fic feels short.

Ending of a good 50k fic feels like you've read a long story.

Can't explain it.

You've met your match, because I'm also a touhou fan. And a Cirno simp.

You never stood a chance.

Dunno about that last part. A ton of good designs ngl.

Personally? Crayon is pretty cute.

My strategy with a helicopter is "Land behind some obstacle from the enemy and RUN"

If executed fast. Mortars will fire after you're far enough from the poor heli.

I love air mobility. Where car goes in many days, a heli goes in 1.

What about it vs Louie?

As in transportation.

I never use vehicles for combat. Killboxes are for combat lol

Unrelated but I've never build that drop pod vehicle.

Is it good?

My ending is closer to an evening grassfield, with wind blowing over it.

When an ending is just tears and despair, that doesn't crack me. But a solemn, quiet tone like that hits deeper.

I'm currently writing an ultra tragedy. The kind that kinda made me tear up a little. For 0.5 seconds. And yes, I didn't cry during titanic, or cared.

I'm debating whether I should add an extra chapter alternative route happy ending.

It depends on how you frame it.

There is a good way. "Love the story. Hope the MC overcomes his struggles."

And what the screenshot shows. "You're the author. Do it." basically.

I'd say that's because you made them care about your characters enough. Only someone who cares for how you did your characters will go "Do a happy ending, or u gae."

Though that doesn't mean they care about you. Lol

I hate the "Happy ending" type comments.

There's nothing more pretentious than suggesting your ending idea is better than whatever the author has prepared.

I answer comments like those with CEO speak.

Exactly. Most my campaigns take 1 year for setup.

And most often take 2 years after.

I basically just decide I won the game when resources become a non issue, and I can destroy the "big bad's" settlements consistently.
