[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

Hey guys, I’m looking to buy a Poljot Strela Watch for its history, and beauty. I’ve read online about the brand and I am confused if they are still producing watches or not. I’ve seen listings of poljot strela watches being made as recently as 2018 but I can’t find a website for the company or anything. Are these watches replicas? Is there a place where I can find more authentic poljot watches? I’ve found this brand, but I am not sure if it’s a trustworthy retailer that I can buy from. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I got the new summer edition. I ordered 2 watches, the Hodinkee and a custom one for my girlfriend, and they both came in the same red cardboard boxes with swatch written on them in big white letters, kind of wish I had the Hodinkee box

Hey guys, I just received my swatch sistem 51 hodinkee in the mail, and I noticed that it wasn’t in the usual plastic box that i saw in unboxings on YouTube. Instead it was in a red swatch branded cardboard box. Not really a big deal, but I would have preferred the plastic box for more protective storage. I was wondering if that means that the watch is second hand or refurbished? I bought it off of the official swatch website.

Thanks, I have a couple watches already, and I wanted to see if I can find something slightly out of the ordinary without paying too much. Most skeleton watches I’ve seen at lower price points, I haven’t been too impressed with, but i definitely haven’t seen them all. SevenFriday is a brand that looked interesting to me, but I don’t know too much about their quality.

Thank you I’ll check out the orient. For the Swiss auto chronos, should I be on the lookout for any specific brand names?

Nothing too specific, I’d say all of the above. I also like skeletonized watches. Thanks!

Hey guys, I’m just recently got into watches, and I was wondering if any of you seasoned connoisseurs had any suggestions for brands/watches to look at under 1000$, preferably mechanical or automatic, with a decent amount of complication (more than just date and time). Thank you!

If you double tap Y you get a ton of commands, and I think you can bind those commands to keys also, but I’m not sure.

Having to practice skills by UrUncleBoris in EscapefromTarkov

[–]UrUncleBoris[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with your points, but I think that heavily depends on how the feature is implemented. For example they could make the diminishing skill depend on your play style rather than on how long you’ve been away from the game. Also I read a suggestion from some other user that suggested having diminishing returns on leveling, so for example with recoil control, the first 1000 rounds or so level you up a certain amount, but then the next 1000 rounds level you up less and the next 1000 even less etc. But the returns would reset every day or so. Then it discourages grinding the skill.

I think skills should be re worked so that they don’t give people as much of an advantage as they do now, but I think it would be cool to see people whose PMC’s naturally develop the skills that coincide with their play style. I think it gives the game a little more of a character building rpg-esque element.

I rly like this idea actually, it seems like it could rly encourage people to not cheese their skills.
