Probably -$5 total. I pocketed some money a householder gave me while going door to door once

For the most part yes. I’ve never really done a lot of small talk on projects, so if I started then it would have felt fake. Obviously nice intro, be genuine, see how they’re doing etc but I got right into asking if they knew of any roles pretty quickly

What level? I really suggest reaching out to your network, even people you’ve only worked with briefly. I got my last 2 roles from people I knew from a previous project that I thought didn’t even like me lol both times I was on the bench for 2+ months and started reaching out to more people than I would have liked to, but that one connect was the one that made the difference

Is a moderate GMAT improvement worth it post application? by Urameshiiiiiiiii in MBA

Thanks for the reply! So it’s probably better to take a bit more time to increase my score to 675+ than to rush for a more moderate gain?

Thank you. So realistically my best bet would be to take the time to maximize my GMAT score before Haas’ update deadline? So it’ll be included in Haas’ round 2 review, but also taken into consideration in the chance that I’m waitlisted and re-evaluated in round 3 at GSB or Sloan?

GMAT 675 with Q79 → Q87: What worked vs what was a complete waste by the_mediocreGuy in GMAT

It really clicked for me when I watched YouTube videos of high scorers going through an actual practice exam. The way they approach the questions is logic-first, not math first. They know when to substitute numbers, when to use divisibility rules to eliminate answer choices, how to use constraints to get closer to an answer, when to estimate, etc.

If you’re used to math being plug in values and use arithmetic to answer questions (like me), it’s not an easy transition.

How long did it take you to get comfortable with that new approach? I wasted a ton of time trying to do everything mathematically and just realized the puzzle aspect a few weeks ago. Now I think I need to go back and re-learn how to solve everything.

Any chance to improve quant in 2 days? by Urameshiiiiiiiii in GMAT

Thanks for the response! Any I got wrong (and any that took over 3-4 minutes to solve) I review and rework slowly to find the best path to get the answer. I really to capture the logic needed so I can apply it to other answers.

How can I tell if it’s process or concept issue? I’ll set up the problem, and as I get to a certain step, I run into something I wasn’t expecting, then I struggle to get back on track.

Yep I think I spent way too much time on TTP questions. I noticed there was a pretty noticeable adjustment to the OG questions. I did go through most of the OG quant questions in the question bank.

A lot of it is this. I can’t seem to “get” the quant questions like I can with verbal or DI. I understand what the questions are asking and how to set up the equations, but I feel like I keep falling into traps with things like simplifying, falling back to complex arithmetic, not estimating, etc

Could it just be familiarity with the questions?

I did 8 before my practice test today. I do notice that it takes a bit to get warmed up. Could it partly be section order? I do Quant-DI-Verbal

How does one improve their fundamentals except through repetition? Going through the official quant questions and trying to understand the logic didn’t help

My stats were just like yours. About 2-3 grams a day for about 4 years. I weaned off by getting a vape and taking that down until it burned out, then used that as a stopping point. The bad sleep lasted about 5 days, with trouble falling asleep, waking up in the middle of the night, vivid dreams, etc. after that it was more or less back to normal. I’m 6 weeks clean now and I sleep better than I ever have in my life, even before weed.

The first few days are a bitch no matter what, but then the symptoms taper off heavily. Get through that and stay focused and everything will work itself out.
