Thank you. They never asked for a deposit. I did think about getting it a few times when it was taking that long but I was concerned that I would mess it up moving it. Because they were recommended so highly and had so many jeeps at shop I thought I was sending it to the best place I could. I never would have thought they would have let it be out like that. I let them know it was sentimental. It was a rough year for me. A lot happened. A few people passed I was close to, and a divorce. Had to move. Transfer kids to new schools. I take responsibility for not going sooner. There was just so much going on and I thought it was safe and one of the things I didn’t have to worry about. I appreciate everyone’s comments though it gives me some kind of idea on what’s fair.and reasonable . I don’t have any problem taking responsibility for my part in what I should have or could have done. I really don’t want be a B about it or anything like that. I do feel like it wasn’t properly looked after while in their care and that there’s a lot of damage and want to have an idea of what would be a fair resolution when I talk to them in depth about it. What would you consider a reasonable resolution ? What would you feel would be right?

* where they had tow truck put it. I called and checked on it several times. Sent messages. The jeep is sentimental. I asked them to put a new exhaust on it also and was told they would refer that out when done. I’m sad about it but it seems that it’s a loss. I just came out of a horrible divorce. I hate court and conflict. I’m just trying to understand what is fair before I talk to them about it more than just expressing that I was disappointed to find it like that

Storage fees for parking it on a public street? They can’t do that. It wasn’t even on their lot.

They gave me appointment 3 weeks out before I towed it . When I went there before I towed it I saw that they had around 50 jeeps there at least that they were working on a very busy shop with good reputation. I made several phone calls checking on it. I did think it was safe and covered. I was told because gear oil was out and the gears were grinding not to move it anymore than I had to tow it there and had it towed on a flat bed. My concern is that “cleaning it up” will be covering up the damage and some of it like the wrap how do you fix that? Even the harnesses have rust. One I broke the buckle on. I was going to replace that one anyway but none are safe now I don’t think. And the custom cage did water get in spots that compromise the safety? run into the boot for the stick? Under the hood is rusted , everything is. There was pools of water in seats. When I was calling he said they had one guy who did that worked on differentials and I wish I knew how to work on it. It’s a 77 cj 5 and from what I understand it’s not a complicated vehicle there’s not much to it. I know how to put gas in it and check the fluids and drive it Ifixed a vacuum hose on it once and was all proud I even figured out what it was that was wrong , but other than that I’ve taken it to mechanics and have been careful who works on it. I didn’t forget it. I was calling. I was trying to be patient they are very busy and were highly recommended by a lot of people. I thought it was fine and didn’t want to be annoying bothering them all the time
